Outstanding Illustrated Maps of Paphos

Post by Dominic »

When art and usefulness are interlinked the results can be extraordinary. A fine example can be seen in the wonderfully illustrated maps of Paphos produced by Anaxima. Come and see what we mean...

They are beautifully drawn maps. My suggestion: if there isn't a special reason why the road names aren't given? I think that they would be even more useful and popular if they were shown. I couldn't work out which area was being illustrated without them. Neither could most tourists.

Very nice, one for my shopping list. To my inexpert eyes street addresses would detract massively from the intended aesthetic. This is art, not Google maps.

Plus, outside of Butcher Boy Road, itself now redundant, I don't think many people could name many of the roads anyway. Some of their names are huge.

So does the unofficial name of a road move to another road when the business it’s named after moves to a new location😂? Or is that now New Butcher Boy Road........

The map would be the size of a house if they had to put on the Cypriot spelling and English spelling together with any local colloquialisms

ie

Αγαπήνωρος /Agapinoros / Mr Chicken Street/ Russian Road

I hope Butcher Boy doesn't move again as it gets even more confusing

I have rehighlighted this thread because we keep getting asked about the maps.
