Government announcement- Road Tax Renewals
Renewal of vehicle registration for the year 2021
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works (Department of Road Transport) announces the following, in relation to the renewal of vehicle registration licenses for the year 2021:
1. The marketing authorizations for the year 2021 will be renewed from Thursday 7.1.2021.
2. The last day of renewal is Thursday 11.3.2021.
3. Marketing authorizations may be renewed for a period of three, six, nine and twelve months.
4. The marketing authorizations are renewed until Thursday 11.3.2021 free of charge. For renewals that will take place after Thursday 11.3.2021, the sum of the amount of 10 euros and an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the marketing authorization corresponding to the amount due for the current year is required as a charge.
5. For the renewal of the marketing authorization there must be:
Certificate of suitability
Security
6. TOM advises everyone to take care of the renewal of the registration of their vehicle in time and not to wait for the last days, in order to avoid a possible overload of the system that can cause inconvenience.
7. It is reminded and emphasized that those who had renewed the registration of their vehicle for the year 2020 but do not intend to renew it for the year 2021 should submit to the TOM a notice for immobilization of the vehicle, by completing the form TOM 12B. Otherwise the obligation to pay the amount corresponding to the registration fee continues to exist.
8. Vehicles for which their registration license for the year 2020 has not been renewed and have not been declared immobilized will be deleted from the TOM register if the amount due for the year 2020 is not paid and their registration license is renewed by Thursday 11.3. 2021.
9. In case of destruction of the vehicle, an application for cancellation of the vehicle registration must be submitted to the TOM (form TOM 98A) accompanied by the "Certificate of Destruction" issued by licensed vehicle waste treatment facilities, in order to relieve the vehicle owner of the obligation road tax from the date of destruction of the vehicle.
10. The marketing licenses can be renewed throughout the year, online, at the Banks, at the KEP, at the Provincial Offices of the Postal Services Department and at the Provincial Offices of TOM.
11. Notices will not be sent to vehicle owners to renew their licenses.

To be honest , I was making a general remark about paying for road tax, I wasn't referring to NHolleran, hand shake done.

Has anyone used a third party like "Gweny's" to get a vehicles logbook on their behalf. I seem to have misplaced the original and currently out of the country

Our insurance company has a copy of our vehicle's log book - perhaps worth contacting yours?
