Evangelismos Hospital

Post by Kili01 »

I have been trying to book an appointment as the Evangelismos since yesterday.
When I rang the hospital yesterday, there was an announcement which said their Casualty (A&E)was closed. This morning I rang them again to try to book an appointment with one of their specialists. First, came the same warning that their casualty dept was still closed and then when I tried to book my appt, a voice told me to ring back after 1pm.

Does anyone know whats going on there?

1pm has been the time to book an appointment at the Evangelismos for a while, well, certainly since the virus, so there is nothing strange about that.

They had announced it on their Facebook page back in November, I think it closed from early December. If I remember right they blamed the government for lack of financial help (the Facebook post was in Greek but I had seen a translation). When I mentioned it to my GP in November he thought it was a strategic move to make the government act, but if it was so far it doesn't seem to have worked if the A&E remains closed!

I quite agree. I have used the A&E at Evabgelismos and found it was very efficient and greatly preferable to the equivalent at the General.
I also have private health insurance but don’t know whether it is able to accept private patients. From their announcement about A&E it sounds as if it has closed dien

If it has that’s crazy as Paphos needs 2 A&E depts.

Are there any 6 star hotels with nurses (and preferably doctors as well) in Cyprus? Any recommendations?

Blue Cross is my favourite - and it has an excellent menu choice.
