Anyone using Transferwise?

Post by dodo »

Recently moved to Cyprus and my husband will start receiving his military pension come January, considering using the above to either move his pension from UK bank onto their boarderless card or across to our Bank Cyprus Acc, that's if we our still able to keep our Barclays and Lloyds accounts open! Thoughts appreciated please.

I use Transferwise. I have a pension paid into it and transfer money into Hellenic as and when. I also use their mastercard when necessary. I find them to be inexpensive, quick, and reliable. A benefit is holding a number of currencies in one account, which I use from time to time. Highly recommended.

And another Transferwise user. I use them to transfer money from HSBC UK into BOC, and also have one of their Euro debit cards. Costs are significantly cheaper than using for example HSBC transfer and also much quicker, usually same day.

Just looked at their website but noticed that it said that debit cards not available 'in your country' (Cyprus?) Anyone had problems getting Transferwise card sent out here?

And another very happy customer of TransferWise. A recent transfer took only 4 hours to hit my Cyprus account. :D

Yep, we sometimes use Transferwise to move Hubby's Cypriot pension back to the UK. Very user friendly.
