Re: Tax form 2019
A GESY number is surely the same as your MEU1 or 3 and your Driving Licence, or so you'd think! WRONG
My MEU3 it's 55012345 (8 digits)
GESY it's 055012345 (9 digits)
Driving Licence it's 5/5012345 (8 digits plus a slash)
Quite what is meant by fractional number is a mystery to me. I have to admit I've not yet looked at taxisnet. I thought I'd let others find all the problems first
Not my real numbers you'll understand

Re: Tax form 2019
I dont know about the first question, as being an S1 holder I don't pay GESY. Therefore I left all the GESY financial boxes blank.Polly wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 10:57 am Help needed please.
I am getting the message "Row 1. Field GHS WITHHELD must be number with maximum 9 digits and 2 fractional digits. Positive numbers do not need a sign". I have inserted eight noughts in front of the number to bring it up to nine with the decimal point and following number. i.e: 000000001.70. System still doesn't like it. I know this was discussed quite a few years ago but unfortunately I can't find the information. Can someone please put me right?
Also Part 4J where it says enter total income. This is darkened out and will not let me enter. For those who have completed the form will this be done automatically when I press self assessment?
Many thaanks
As to the second question, darkened boxes should be left blank as the system will complete them at the end of the process.
I completed my form yesterday and found the system to be very straightforward and, even better, it told me the tax man owes me 67 euros!
Re: Tax form 2019
Thank you to both. At least my mind is eased about the darkened box. Why tell me to enter a figure but not let me do it?!
I spent what seemed like a long time this morning entering variations of the GHS withheld tax figure and nothing was accepted. I am totally at a loss as to what to do next. Could email tax office but will I get a reply?

Re: Tax form 2019
Just put a comma instead of a full stop. The totals will be completed when you compute totals and submit.
Re: Tax form 2019
Thanks a so much Dot n Dash! It worked! I am very grateful. Once I had entered this another bunch of errors came up but I have sorted them now and tax form sent off. The daft thing about the maximum nine digits etc is that I have a Cyprus pension which was added automatically along with the GHS withheld. No sign of any 0s. Nor do they show up on the print out.
Re: Tax form 2019
I've logged onto Taxinet and can see no sign of a 2019 tax form to submit. Just shows tax returns up to 2018, accepted in 2019. Have emailed Tax Department but response yet.

You need to click the “submit “ button , sounds like you have clicked the “view “ button .

Re: Tax form 2019
Right, thanks for that Mr Blobby.
Another question. On Section 2 Q3 it asks for SI No of Country of Insurance. Is that our UK NI Number or the S1/E121 Number on our original Medical Cards?? Or something else??
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Tax form 2019
I have put my NI number in it , it appears to accept it but I do not know for definite.
Re: Tax form 2019
Its a number on the S1 form issued to you. It should be labelled as your Personal Identification number.
Re: Tax form 2019
Just dug out my S1 Registration Form. Both Mr Blobby and Josef k are correct -The SI No of Country of Insurance is your NI Number.

Re: Tax form 2019
I have a letter from Ms Michaels dated 24/09/2020 but the system states dates must be between some date in March to 22/09/2020 so I'm stymied
Also it wants the TIC of my UK banks and building societies. Where does one find that? I've looked om my statements. Looked on line. Nothing! Without it I get 'errors'.

I don't understand your first paragraph - to what are you referring?
I phoned the banks and asked them for the TIC numbers. That was relatively easy!

Re: Tax form 2019
Right, I'm getting there I think but am still getting a couple of error indications.
On Part 4 Employers. The system has pre populated the line with my previous employer who I no longer work for but when trying to delete the information it will not let you delete the Code number. Which of course then throws up a wobbly at the end asking for employer details and income!!
Any ideas?

Re: Tax form 2019
I was referring to the letter from MOH. See Mr Blobby's letter om page 1 confirming as a UK taxpayer into the UK health system, I do not have to make a monthly payment for GESY.
Re: Tax form 2019
I admire all of you for completing your own tax returns as normally I enjoy the challenge of doing everything myself.
Decided to bring in an accountant about 13 years ago to sort our very simple tax situation and happy to pay €60 per annum - her valuable advice over the years has certainly saved us a lot more than she has received in fees.

Re: Tax form 2019
What TIC were you after? Ones that relate to your personal accounts, or the Banks TIC? My bank say they don't have one and as I am paid gross, I too have no TIC. Still totally confused!!
Re: Tax form 2019
Chris &Pam
My wife had a similar situation so we changed the code to 5 and entered Unemployed, 0,00 income and cleared the content.
Worked.
