Meaning of "crafty" = clever at achieving one's aims by indirect or deceitful methods.

I didn't read Max's post in a negative way at all. He was simply trying to inject humour and I think he should leave the post as it is. Given that English isn't Max's first language I think he does very well to cope with the idiosyncrasies and nuances of the English language. Could most of us do the same in another language? Nah.

Well, I did not speak any English when I came first to Cyprus but learned a lot, when I had a relationship with a English/Cypriot girl at a point I took Greek lessons, which I unfortunately stopped then. There are plenty "words" I know since, which I could use on this forum, (Greek and English ones) but this would lead to more uproar than necessary. Anyhow, Thank you Lloyd for your post which was the nicest respond in the last two years or so....

There was nothing wrong with the word "crafty" at all. Indeed, Eric Bristow was nicknamed the "Crafty Cockney" and nobody was accusing him of being deceitful.

It can also mean that you are applying craft.

I've seen a lot of nonsense in my time moderating this board, but claiming offence at Max's perfectly innocent post is pretty close to the top of the pile.
