BirdLife Cyprus on Wednesday called on MPs not to pass as law a bill proposing fining only ???200 those found hunting protected bird species, warning this would also land Cyprus in trouble with the EU.The group said the bill in question will be tabled to the House plenum to vote on Friday....

Yes, many of them are. But Cyprus is also in trouble with the EU too as its illegal to allow hunting of protected bird species. Also using mist nets and lime sticks is also banned.
It high time that this barbaric wanton killing was stopped. But MP's may get the fines which are levied by courts reduced......

You would have thought that following the current pandemic crisis that emanated and jumped from wild animals to humans it would have given the government sufficient cause and opportunity, in addition to the pressure from the EU, to completely ban 100% this sick, archaic, barbaric tradition
