Can anyone point me to the relevant page(s) on the MoF site which deals with the above please?
I've been round and round the site and can find the sections covering Customs and duties but not the annual circulation tax.
I understand the latter has replaced what was effectively an import duty on vehicles.

I should have been more clear.......its not how to pay the annual road tax I am asking, rather calculating the annual amount.

There is a Govt set scale of road tax, which used to be based on the engine size, but now Inthink is calculated on engine carbon CO2 emissions
Re road tax. You pay a Govt set price which is based on not the engine size, I think, but the number of carbon emissions of the engine. (Someone will put me right on this). You are supposed to pay this before the end of March each year. There is as far as I know no discounted rate for shorter periods.
