It looks like the bus service will be improving soon and it looks like a lot more public toilets !!!

The article mentions "Work is underway to construct a transit station on the Tombs of the Kings Road in Paphos"

Does anyone know where the is and know what a "transit" station purpose is ???????

There's a large construction site not long started next to Tea For Two on the Tomb of the Kings rd, could this be one of them perhaps?

Wasn't there a hoohaa about the existing bus terminal being built illegally a while ago? Perhaps the new one is a legit replacement?

No, that was only about the roof they constructed without permission.

I wonder why they are building it on ToTK road? The only bus that uses this road regularly is the bus to Coral Bay and Peyia.
Anyone know?

Seems odd to have another bus terminal, what with Karavelle and the one not too far, at the harbour. I guess they know what they're doing though.

The only thing I can think of them using it for, bearing in mind where it is positioned on the Tea for Two side of the ToTK Rd ( on the route from Coral Bay /Peyia ) is that they may also route buses from the Karavelle through the back of Moutallos to end up on the ToTK Rd higher up and pick up passengers at the new site who are travelling towards the east to save peeps schlepping into the old town to the Karavelle ??

Its a strange one

The roads from and around Moutallos tend to be very narrow and winding. Not ideal for those huge buses... but a hub for the link between the Coral Bay bus and the Market sounds more promising. Especially as the old town was crying out for it to be made easier for tourists to reach it from the harbour area to be improved.

Yes Dom, there was a big fuss made as I recall. They say it was built on top of an archaeological site and therefore must be moved elsewhere.

Lincoln, yes, that was true. Not only that they never even applied for planning permission and the new structure suddenly appeared after a long weekend. The archaeological site around the harbour is a UNESCO heritage site and the Antiquities Dept are in charge of the whole area.
So, if there are plans to develop it further, I hope that all the permissions are in order and the Antiquities Dept know whats planned there!

Karavella bus station has moved temporarily to near Cafe Nero (old market).

I have looked at the map but sadly it does not make things clear for me... If I knew where Cafe Nero was I may be better informed.. I assume this affects all the inter city buses..

Thanks for that Mirek. I thought there was only room there for a couple of buses.. ie more a bus stop than a bus station.. I hoe there is sufficient space :-)

I drove through there over the weekend and there must have been about 15 20/30 seaters and about 10 “proper size” coaches and there was still room to park about 70 cars.

Are you thinking of the same place Trev? This one is at the bottom of the lift Almost opposite the old fruit market.

No I have not been thinking the same place.. I was thinking at the top of the hill on the road past the old town veg Market.
But now you seem to be telling me it is actually in the car park :-) That sounds better space wise.. and I assume the buses go out towards the TOTK road.

If you read the poster it says below Cafe Nero !!!

There is a new fancy glass lift by the cafe that takes you down to the barely used car park underneath
