Looks like a rainy day tomorrow....?
The weather forecast was not that accurate in the last few weeks as there are much less aeroplanes flying due to Corona bans.
But both weather predictions I always check from German websites indicate that tomorrow we should have thunder and lightning as well as rain...
This source is wetteronline.de/radar 9 AM and the front comes from the west...

What has the lack of aeroplanes flying, got to do with the accuracy of the weather Forecast ??

Re: Looks like a rainy day tomorrow....?
In the past I was not aware that data from aeroplanes are used for weather forecasts. Recently, watching German weather forecasts, they explained how important the data from planes are.
" Measuring data that every aircraft provides during take-off and landing. Normally, sensors on airplanes provide temperatures, wind speeds and information about humidity.
These data are also missing from the German Weather Service. Andreas Friedrich from the DWD explains the problem: "These data are very important, because an aircraft flies from the ground to an altitude of 10 kilometres, where you get a nice profile of the atmosphere. And then it flies up over the Atlantic, where we also get important data because there are only a few measuring stations.
This data has now dropped off dramatically in the Corona crisis. This means that the meteorologists are missing an important mosaic in this huge data collection that they make every day, explains Friedrich."

Have to admit I was puzzled by your comment Max, but your explanation makes perfect sense.

Thanks Max for that explanation. One thing we have noticed is how quiet it is now that there are no planes taking off or landing, and very little traffic noise. Also, how loud the birds sing

Most sites for accurate weather these days comes from satellites. Have a look at Cyprus Storms Live. It gives live weather reports all via satellites.
