It's either blown a fuse or possibly the heating element may have gone, but it won't heat up . I’m no electrician, so am hoping to find someone who is good with domestic appliances.

A while sgo some else asked about repairs to a domestic appliance, there were several replies and several people gave contact details for people who did this. Unfortunately, a search of the site didn’t give me the information that I needed. Even if its a tradesman who repairs say fridges, he might be able to help diagnose the problem with my mini oven.
Any useful suggestions please?
Thanks.

If the indicator light comes on then the power is getting to the oven .
Most ovens have two elements , a top and a lower element .if one fails the other should still be working.
If the thermostat or the thermal protection device fail then nothing would work .
So if nothing works just the indicator light then it is most likely the stat or thermal protection device .

A chap has been been doing a lot of ads on Facebook recently for appliance repairs under the name KMW Services. Search for Appliance Repairs Paphos on Facebook or call 97 768114. Have not used his services so cant offer a recommendation, just info.

The chap who used to get recommended here fell ill I believe. No idea how he is now.

First thing you should try, if no lights are coming on anywhere, is to just change the fuse of the plug.

You could try looking on utube. There just might be a simple repair you can do yourself. Make sure you put model name and make and problem and select search. There are hundreds of helpful, and some not so helpful, videos on there. My microwave door wouldn't close, looked on there, a simple home repair fixed it! You never know!

There's a place by Shipshape that says domestic appliance repairs. As you take the turn in to Shipshape it is directly facing you. You can either get the number or call in with the appliance.

Hi All who have offered their advice - many thanks.

Sadie, many thanks, I contacted Spencer. He came yesterday to look at my mini oven/grill.

You’re more than welcome, he’s a handy guy to know, he repaired my very old tumble drier when I thought it was dead.

Thanks for that news about Marios, Lloyd.
I hope that he has recovered? He has rescued my old American fridge when I thought that it
was terminal! He’s such a nice man and so helpful.

I was until recently in touch with Marios who I regard as a friend, he was still under treatment the last time he contacted me, I said then if anything changes I will post on his referral page on this forum. I do wish him a full recovery but it is now sometime having this treatment.
As far as I am aware Marios is not back doing what he does so well..

Maybe Marios treatment has been interrupted by the covid virus... poor Marios if that’s happened.

Dee morning, not sure what his treatment is for (yes I can guess) but as my next door neighbour is having Chemotherapy weekly it is still available, they have to drive to Limassol for his treatment.

Sadie,
I goit my mini oven back today as Spencer has fixed it. It turned out to be a simple repair, a fuse in the mechanism of the oven had blown. Once he fitted the new fuse all was well again. I am very pleased that he managed to fix the oven very quickly.
Thank you Sadie for giving me his details.
