Cyprus have suspended post from and to several countries due to airlines suspending flights. U.K. is included

Coronavirus: Post office suspends post to a number of countries

The Post Office has announced that because of the spread of coronavirus, a number of airlines have suspended their flights to Cyprus. As a result, it will be not be accepting or sending postal items to the following destinations until further notice:

Albania, Australia, Austria, Bosnia, China, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Morocco, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sudan, Sweden, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Tunisia, UAE, UK, Ukraine, USA.

They don’t mention Greece either, so maybe the post will find its own way there. If thats the case, then mail to the UK could be sent via Athens as it has been on previous occasions.
Maybe the staff of the Post Office are having a 4-6 week holiday while claiming their allowances. Who knows.

The Cyprus Post announces that postal services will be suspended for all countries except Greece for all services, apart from the Quickpost courier service.

Well, maybe I’m right then! As the mail can still get as far as Athens, why can’t other countries mail be forwarded on from there? Makes no sense.
Why can no arrangements be made when the post is being disrupted for quite a long period.
What it is to have unionS who are so strong that they can make their own rules.

I’ve just heard from a business associate in Athens that they too will going into lockdown for 14 days from tomorrow.
