Does anybody know if it is possible to have a family member as executor on a Cyprus will ?

Well we certainly have.. Our daughter who lives in the UK is executor, and she lives in the UK..

Yes we also certainly have, Our son who lives in the UK is our executor

I was informed that the the law on Wills was changed and that they now share the inheritance between the direct family; the spouse getting 50% and all the family (including the spouse) sharing the other 50%. This makes Wills suggesting the use of English Law uncertain.
This is to prevent blood fueds as I understand murders over wills between family members was quite common. The only way you can guarantee loved ones getting their inheritance is to leave it to them before you die.
I'm sure someone can clarify this.
