We will be giving updates as the date approaches. Last time we looked the field was all green...

It has been known in the past for the date to be changed depending upon how the tulips were growing

I clicked on the translation and it does not say it is cancelled.
But I think it is trying to ;-)

"The Polemi Tulip Festival to be held on March 29, 2020 is being held due to conformity with the measures adopted by the competent authorities in the context of the protection and prevention of the transmission of koronaioú"

Actually I think you will find that that is exactly what it is saying.

Perhaps if you were to learn the language you could translate it for yourself and not rely on the computer?

ΑΚΥΡΩΘΗΚΕ translates to CANCELED.

Ooo that's what we can all do as we self-isolate. Learn a bit more of the lingo. I'm as guilty as the next man on that front.

I didn't know it either. But if you run the text through Google translate it does it for you.

It also makes a better job of the original post:

The Tulipa Polemiou Festival to be held on March 29, 2020 CANCELLED for compliance with the measures announced by the competent authorities in the framework of the protection and prevention of coronary transmission

In my phrase book it says it means "Please fondle my buttocks"

Let's see who remembers that classic line from ca 1970
