Reasonably priced lounge furniture

Post by galexinda »

Just been let down by a major furniture store in Paphos where we had ordered two lounge chairs last week. Assured they were in stock but at another store. Duly arranged for the sofa to be collected by one of the charity shops and waited for the delivery. Nothing forthcoming so we returned to the shop and were assured we would have them within a couple of days - no problem. Returned today, only to find that the two chairs were damaged and none in stock and no more were being ordered.

We have been round a few charity and secondhand shops this afternoon as well as some of the recommended stores eg Evzonas, Steptoes and and Sun Tower (these three being way out of our budget). Can anyone please recommend new shops that are reasonably priced or second hand places or perhaps someone is moving back to UK or upgrading? As we are in a rented apartment, nothing bulky and also not too expensive as we will have to leave it behind when lease ends and so don't want to spend too much.

Shall continue to go round the charity shops but open to ideas.

Thank you

Poor you! It’s hard to adviise you or give suggestions as don’t know which charity shops and 2nd hand stores you’ve tried... But Paws Charity shop in Chloraka has a large basement where they have room for quite a lot of furniture...

Thank you - in fact we popped into PAWS this afternoon and saw the sofa we had donated to them last week! Very well organised charity shop and impressed with their furniture section. Shall check their FB page and also furniture r us in Emba on a daily basis. New2You and SAMS also visited this afternoon. Not an easy task as I am rather short so often find my feet don't reach the floor, the fashionable low backs don't offer proper shoulder/neck or head support and often the back is at an angle so I am reclining rather than sitting. Fortunately our patio chairs are comfortable so happy to wait to find the right fit.

Success, managed to find two recliner chairs in the Super Home clearance sale at a fraction of the cost of the likes of Evzonas and Steptoes.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
