Raised Flower Beds ...

Post by MacManiac »

My wife is looking for a couple of raised flower beds for the garden. They should be about waist-high (so no awkward bending) and about three feet by three feet, with a depth of about ten inches. Ideally she would like to buy them readymade but is prepared to have them constructed.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Bit of a trek, but Leroy Merlin in Nicosia had assemble-yourself raised beds earlier this summer.

In the UK I have used railway sleepers for raised beds not sure of there availability in Cyprus ! They are now made specifically for gardens so may be available.

Or it could be easier to build them yourself, using either building blocks or bricks or stone as the retaining wall for the flower bed.
There are a number of builders yards around Paphos.

I agree with Terry.
We've used the garden railway sleepers since we returned to UK from Cyprus and they're so easy to use. Lots of garden areas are being utilised by them and they age really well too.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I suspect my lovely wife just wants to say “I’ll have one of those ...”

Simple way. Building blocks with planks across same as they do in some of the local nurseries.
