Took a friend to the ophthalmologist (following GP referral) at the General to arrange cataract removal in Nicosia or Limasol General which is, or was previous practice.
Was told no need, go to any private hospital in Paphos, see the opthalmic surgeon, and the cataract would be removed for the princely sum of 6 euros.
Went to the Blue Cross, saw the surgeon the same day, the operation arranged for January!
Gesy is working in my opinion!

Brilliant to watch now – Much more routine quick and efficient – I watched this same operation around fifteen years ago and it was very Primitive with a large slit made in the bottom of the lens and most of the gunge pulled out with tweezers in one quick move and always some of the attached membrane left behind but as long as the middle was clear that was it.
