Akamas Fire Day 2
Re: Akamas Fire Day 2
Why publicise these mindless persons who according to todays paper have committed arson in a beautiful natural forest? The Akamas Forest is about to become part of the Natura 2000 National Akamas Park. According to the newspaper report the police think the perpetrators want to sell their land for development.
The fire has destroyed a large area, and cost the country a lot in terms of man power, time and needed a lot of help in the form of helicopters and fire engines where required to try to control and then extinguish it.
This needless destruction sickens me.

Why publicise what? The reason I took the pictures was mainly because people had been concerned that Avakas Gorge had gone up in smoke. Rumours spread fast and there were plenty about last night on social media.
