Good old Andy

Post by Mark »

Following hip resurfacing and recovery, Andy Murray has just won the European open in Antwerp, not a major tournament, but a major step forward for Murray and British Tennis, he beat Stan Wawrinka, himself a major winner.

Good on you Andy

Yes fair play to him. He could have put his feet up and started spending his winnings, but he's fought his way back.

We watched it last night on Amazon Prime. Brilliant game and very close. Could have gone either way but he really dug in at the end. He was extremely emotional.
Just as an aside, we watched it on catchup as it was on at the same time as the Liverpool game. Glad I did not log in yesterday afternoon as it would have spoilt the Murray match for me. On purpose, we both avoided newspapers, news etc so we could watch it without knowing the result. Bit like the Likely Lads episode, No Hiding Place, but it is much more difficult now to avoid a result.
