Hellenic Bank Strikes
I’ve had a text from Hellenic Bank warning that their branches will be closed on 11 October due to strike action.

That's my bank, but I've heard nothing ............... so far.
I did hear there will be charges for over the counter transactions coming soon.
No charge for use of Hellenic ATM.

Charging 15 cents for each transaction, I believe it was from the 16th of September.

Re: Hellenic Bank Strikes
It actually mentioned the word "strike" in the web address it quoted....
Has anybody noticed how often one day strikes occur on Fridays or Mondays ...
I went in yesterday to query a couple of recent charges on my old Co-op account and to ask for statements to be in English. I have to go back with my passport (Cyprus ID not good enough) in order for this to be done - but the helpful gentleman did suggest that if I changed my account from a current account to a savings account, it would avoid the €2 monthly ledger fee and I could still use my debit card.

Re: Hellenic Bank Strikes
I was with the Co op Bank, great service, friendly and efficient, then they were taken over by Hellenic, result clueless , a right shambles, the right hand didn't know what the left one was doing, the final straw for me was when I transferred some money to the UK, then asked for a sum in cash, they would not give me the cash, even though, I had ten times that amount in my account, they said the transfer had to go through first, argued with the gormless manager, but he wouldn't have, so i closed all my accounts with them, speaking to other customers, some have moved to other banks,

Strike on a friday then you have a long weekend off!
There is some logic in that thinking.
