Jamie Oliver “Veg” book

Post by MacManiac »

My wife earnestly desires the new Jamie Oliver “Veg” book but Amazon want silly money for postage and packing. Can anyone suggest somewhere in the area where we might find a copy for sale?

Not a lot of help in this case, but I've been buying "Used" cookery and other books on Amazon over the last year, some at staggeringly good prices - a recent one cost £0.86 plus reasonably low postage, with the books being in almost pristine condition. There's one JO's Veg listed as used, but the price is as new!

Have you tried Kyriakou Bookshop? They're good at getting books on demand. They may even have it on their shelves now.

For a recipe book, I prefer paper versions because my screen saver comes on at inopportune moments! 🤭😀

Can you get it on amazon.de instead?
Postage to Cyprus can be cheaper buying from the German site rather than UK.

Not yet but there was a suggestion to check Amazon.de, which I’ll do.

Just checked Amazon.de and the price, without post and packing, is about double the price of the Amazon.co.uk price (€25 as opposed to £11.49). Looks like we shall wait for prices to fall.

Many thanks to all who have offered suggestions or help. A kind forum member has offered to bring a copy of the book out when they return to Cyprus in a couple of weeks and that will be great.

This afternoon saw this forum and its members at their best. One kind member had offered to pick up a copy of this book when he was in the UK, and bring it over when he returned to Cyprus. True to his word, we met - like extras from a spy film - outside the front door at Lidl in Paphos. A bag concealed the prize and was handed over and money was given in exchange.

Absolutely brilliant and helpful, my wife is delighted and all is well with the world. Thanks Andy ... you’re a star.
