We have used Twenty4Severn for the last couple of years & they have been very professional.
They installed all our security including CCTV, monitors, alarms ETC.

We purchased one from Ebay the maker was Scannce a 4 camera system for around £180.
It works with network cables so there is no extra power cables.
I fitted it myself and it was good, just not fitted at the new house but I might do sometime if needed.

I fitted a Sony eight camera system myself, very straight forward and it covers the house, pool area and garden.

I bought all the parts off Amazon, cameras, cables and box. The cables come in different fixed lengths and you buy the control unit to suit the number of cameras you want or buy one with extra capacity so you can add more cameras later.

We have an Arlo wireless system, all the equipment bought on Amazon easy to install and no cables, of course the cameras are battery powered so the batteries need changing, Video is stored free on I cloud for 7 days, longer if you subscribe. no need for a recorder.
Of course not a suitable system for everyone but works very well in our case. 8-)
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !
