I say as a remain voter, it is interesting, bit out of date now, because whilst everyone was going on about whether Tusk was a god or a twit, I actually think twit. Macron passed a new law about the right to protest through the National Assembly, admittedly it has to get through the 2nd Chamber.
"The law would allow administrative rather than judicial authorities to issue protest bans against certain individuals that they consider to be a serious threat to public order"
"Human rights advocates as well as members of Emmanuel Macron's own La République En Marche (LREM) party have criticized the bill, arguing it infringes upon the freedom to protest. While the legislation passed by 387 votes for and 92 against, 50 LREM lawmakers abstained — a record for legislation backed by the government.

Centrist lawmaker Charles de Courson criticized the bill in the assembly last week, warning that it would mark “the return of the Vichy regime,” which collaborated with Germany during World War II."

Bang goes due process.

I was watching France24 (I am no Francophile, but it is better than the BBC, very Francocentric, but its world news is much better.) and one MP said that if a far right (I would include far left, cannot really see any difference.) government got in... Interestingly no comment from the EU yet. Seeing as they have threatened Poland for doing it the other way round and changing the retirement age for judge, increasing the number of judges and they get to elect them. Still I suppose it depends who is doing it, not what they do. I am sure if Le Pen was doing it there would be a s**t storm.
Well back to the serious stuff, "EU president does serious teenage name calling, supporters wet pants in glee."

Not really, it's one of multiple spats going on within the harmonious EU actually!
