Great! All appeal to my sense of humour..
Poor old Boris (not), he does seem to lend himself as a butt of many jokes...
But no one takes him seriously abroad either.. which is bad for our countries image...
He was only 600,000 out in his figures of more people in employment....
Also ignored the change in law, that forces self-employed, through the IR35 law, to go full-time with employer, rather than contracting...
I think we should just assume everything he says is a lie, then we won't be wrong.
Contractors often had the same contract for years on end, but paid very little tax because their income went into their company, and their company paid them dividends. Surely the solution would be to keep their own company and have that company pay them a proper wage.
NB: I am basing my comment on what IR35 was about over 20 years ago, when it shook up the IT industry. If thinks have changed then please enlighten me.

Nobody can be on IR35 if working most of their time with one client, anymore. So almost all IT and other contractors, have gone salaried with their client
So in the past 6 months, 600.000 self employed went salaried, and Johnson then said that there were more people employed in UK - ignoring the switch and the fact there were less 'in employment' than before
