Re: Coronavirus thrives on ignorance
In terms of pandemic viruses, I've always thought that visors (if you are not wearing a mask) in a commercial environment are one of the most useless pieces of kit ever. Granted you do not direct your moisture-laden (and possibly germ-laden) breath forward, but you simply direct it downwards, where...

Re: Higher penalties for traffic violations come in effect on Thursday
It's rather unfortunate that The Highway Code does not load. It would also have been good for someone with fluent English to check it before publishing as there are a number of very strand prohibitions, like Negative driving. I presume that should be Negligent driving? I still think some of the pena...

If you have the certificate the S1 Number is your UK NI number. The date needed is the date the certificate was sent (top right) The Ref number is on the top left side starting MOH then a series of numbers. I entered the number as it appears including the dots. Chris It's still not accepting the da...

I'm inclined to believe only part of this from facebook. I say lets wait & see if the authorities do ACTUALLY investigate & we get the results.

Re: Coronavirus thrives on ignorance
I went shopping in two supermarkets today and everybody without exception was wearing a mask. People do take this very seriously. 1. when you say that everybody was wearing a mask, were they wearing it correctly? 2. were the same people respecting the social distance? 3. how many of the people who ...

Re: Tax form 2019
Leaving the TIC space blank did not work for me Mr Blobby, but as dot-dash suggested my personal TIC does seem to have been accepted. Hurrah for that. However I have the following "errors" 2019 Errors in Return.jpg As my address was already filled in when I opened the form, I have no idea ...

Re: Tax form 2019
mikestrand2 I don't understand your first paragraph - to what are you referring? I phoned the banks and asked them for the TIC numbers. That was relatively easy! What TIC were you after? Ones that relate to your personal accounts, or the Banks TIC? My bank say they don't have one and as I am paid g...

Re: UK banks to close many ex-pats accounts after Brexit.
I read that NSI have said that huge numbers invested more in Prem Bonds in July: I was one. With the UK banks paying virtually 0% interest, why wouldn't I? If I get just one 25 pound win, that would be more than my bank interest in a year! Unfortunately NSI are having to cut their returns because of...

Re: Tax form 2019
I have a letter from Ms Michaels dated 24/09/2020 but the system states dates must be between some date in March to 22/09/2020 so I'm stymied Also it wants the TIC of my UK banks and building societies. Where does one find that? I've looked om my statements. Looked on line. Nothing! Without it I get...

Smile is part of The cooperative Bank. I just checked on line and there is no mention of any Barclays involvement, although I acknowledge Barclays could possibly be a shareholder.
