Re: Appointment for MEU 3

Jeba, I am tired of arguing with you :-( To me depersonalising data means it cannot be linked to a person, and yet above is an example of a fine from 2007 showing up against a mans name.. To me as well. Now I found the website I previously mentioned and which explains: PNR data is stored in the PNR...

Re: Appointment for MEU 3

It would seem from the post I recollected, and that WHL has posted above, that data is not deleted nor is it depersonalised.. They are depersonalised. The link I gave above is from an official EU website and on a German website (too lazy now to look it up again and translate) I read that it takes a...

Re: Appointment for MEU 3

Why are you so against the authorities of any country checking the status of any body entering their country??????????? What makes you think I am? I was merely surprised data can be stored for longer than 3 months because that used to be the law where I'm from. Reading your posts, They seem to give...

Re: Sklavenitis (Carrefore)

I sometimes shop in the Larnaca store, and in my view there is never enough shoppers in there, to cover the cost of the electricity bill they must have, let alone anything else, Compared to their shop in Kiti the one in Larnaca is packed. Hardly ever the number of customers exceeds the number of em...

Re: Appointment for MEU 3

I shouldn't think so, Jeba. These days information stored on computers it's easier for immigration officers to access such important information. Now I got curious and googled. Passenger data are stored for 5 years but can only be accessed if a serious crime is suspected, such as human and drug tra...

Yes, but isn't it EU law that those data will be deleted after 3 months?

Re: More COVID measures - partial lockdown with no limits on movement within province.

The government have to weight up practicalities with risk. After 72 hours you could have picked up the virus. After 7 days you could have picked up the virus. There is more chance of testing positive 7 days after your last test than 3 days, for sure, but the difference in probability isn't huge. So...

Re: Masks

Just out of curiosity: are certified masks meanwhile available in Paphos? Btw it seems that at least some cities in Germany have been seeing the light and started providing free ffp 2 masks to the elderly. E.g. Bremen started doling out 2/week for residents aged 65 and above. I can't understand why ...

Must I wear a mask while driving in a convertible with a dog from my household when the roof is opened. Maybe that counts as being outdoors?😎

Re: Covid 19 vaccination

My take on it is that it should depend on the personal risk/benefit ratio. E. g. I've never bothered to be vaccinated against influenza as given my personal circumstances I deem that ratio unfavourable for me. Currently there isn't enough known about the new vaccines to properly assess that ratio.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al-SZ7cii-g&feature=emb_title&ab_channel=TheMirrorProject With such an unblemished safety record how could you possibly refuse Pfizer's vaccination? By not being aware the vaccine hasn´t actually been developed by Pfizer but rather by Biontech ? Pfizer merely...

Re: Masks

The antibody tests are largely a waste of time. Most people who exhibit antibodies, only do so for a relatively short period of time. Many dont at all. It proves nothing That´s not quite correct. If correctly positive they show that you had contact with the virus and are either immune or at least l...

Incidentally, we went back to the UK last Christmas and had very high temps etc + felt crap. We thought we had it, but my wife has since had an antibody test and there was no sign. As I said they protect against bigger droplets containing virus. They won´t protect from very small droplets or aerosols. You can trust me on that. Or google.

Re: Masks

They only can retain bigger droplets but not small ones. Think of it like a fly, a garden fence and a flyscreen. The fly will easily pass through the garden fence but not through the flyscreen. Also, there is the problem of air not passing through the mask but coming in from the side (sorry don´t kn...

Re: Masks

What I don´t understand is that people don´t wear certified masks (FFP 2 or 3) now that they are available. Why not wear one that actually offers protection to myself (as opposed to merely protecting others) if I have to wear one anyway? Must admit I am concerned about the level of protection given...
