Re: Lots of rain
We did the tourist bit today as we have visitors and went to Pano Lefkari and then Kato Lefkkari. Arrived at 1pm, after having a coffee at the McDonalds near Alpha Mega, just off the motorway, where there was no sign of rain. 11km later, parked car in Pano Lefkari and thunder all around us, but no r...

Re: CAR PARKING ON MESOGI(POLIS)ROAD
A couple of weeks ago Rosemary had an appointment at the physio clinic above Soffit on the Polis Road. I decided I would walk down to the old town and have a coffee at Aristis's place, opposite the car park. It was the most dangerous walk I have ever undertaken. Pavement is on opposite sides of the ...

That is what I will refer to it in future, Geroskipou Beach. Sorry about your reclining chair, it wasn't me. Great talking to you Jim. Also well done Coventry City. One ofthe nice things about going for a walk or bike ride is the people you meet and get talking to.

No Dominic, it is Jim's Beach. I named it so it will always be called Jim's Beach. He has photographed it many times over the years to illustrate points he made
Likewise, that rock you photographed Dominic will always be Dominic's Rock.

Re: (Kataklysmos or festival of the flood Walk.
Just changed that. Wrong choice of word. I was thinking of the sign she has outside her offices, "Penelope's Palace" Jim's Beach is not quite Riccos Beach. It is between the Atlantica Seafood Restaurant, and the Phaethon Beach Hotel. It is where Jim's dog enjoyed walking on the pile of sti...

Re: (Kataklysmos or festival of the flood Walk.
Our family has names for various places around Paphos, due mainly to not wanting to pronounce the proper name correctly. Jim Cross has posted pictures of this beach over the years so it has become Jim's Beach. Penelope's Church is nearby, funded by a particular famous local lawyer. Perhaps people wo...

(Kataklysmos or festival of the flood Walk.
Today started my walk at Jim's Beach, by the Lunar Park, at 7:30am, a little later than usual. Quite a few people fishing at Penelope's Church. DSCN0367 (800 x 450).jpg Path busy with mainly locals. One family had camped out in an old Commer van and were eating their breakfast on the new seats befor...

Totally agree Dominic. I do not hate anyone anymore, even Everton and Man Utd. Life is too short. I remember as a child watching Man Utd win the European Cup and we all of our family wanted United to win. Why? They were a British club and managed by a former Liverpool player.

Re: Champions League BLACKOUT!!
Sorry, could not work out the point of the stupid advert. It did not happen as outlined in the above post. We just had a message that this was an advert with different coloured backgrounds. I watched fairly legally on BT Sport, as we subscribe in the UK. My payments are getting blocked by my bank wi...

Re: Foinikas Heights
Thank you Dominic. Will have to explore on my bike when a bit cooler and the sun not as fierce. I cycled up as far as the road down to the reservoir in February but then concentrated on coastal routes. Have no idea what that mystery object in one of the pictures is. No doubt someone will know. Perha...

Nice shots young man, reminds me why we all came to live here, near the sea, I will be down there this morning I will take a look at those improvements. Re: Dust...back again!
Went out for my walk today late afternoon/early evening. Very humid down at the coast. (87%) and some dust in the air. A few people with masks on or scarves covering mouths and noses. According to my ap, dust level pm10, in the moderate range. Could hardly see the hills behind Penelope's Church. Any...

Re: Beach at Yerouskipi.
Went for my walk today late afternoon/early evening. A lot of sand has been put on the beach with, as Ancient History said, the addition of sunbeds near to the new toilet block. DSCN0338 (800 x 450).jpg Riccos's old toilets are still there. Do not know when they were last used but they smell. DSCN03...

Re: Fire at Polemi
On the Industrial State near Anarita there is an accident waiting to happen. On a piece of waste ground there is a small metal skip, just past the car scrappage place. It is in the middle of a field. A couple of weekends ago, a blazing fire was coming out of this skip, with plumes of black smoke. Wh...
