I've not had any reason to sign onto my GESY account for a few months but I'm now getting an error when I try to access it. The opening screen remembers our sign-on details but when I click Login I get a screen with Oracle Access Manager and system error.
Has anyone else encountered this?

Re: Chaos with SafePass on first day of implementation
We went to the coffee shop in Slevenitis (used to be Carrefore). We were asked to show our passes before we entered. The lady was apologetic that this had to be done but very polite. No problem at all.....

Memory Foam Mattress + electric blanket
I know it's far too hot to talk about electric blankets, but we're in the process of buying a new mattress. We've never had a memory foam mattress so would be interested in hearing the pros and cons about them. For example, are they hot in the summer? We love our electric blanket but we've been told...

We also need a new mattress. We popped into Steptoes a couple of days ago. They said they will be getting new stock in from the end of July.

Re: Operations on Gesy and costs
I had a biopsy to rule out giant cell arteritis at the Hippocratic Clinic which is also GESY. I paid €6 to the surgeon and it cost us €120 to 'rent' the operating room for 15 minutes.

Polymyalgia Rheumatica
Interested to know if there's anyone on Paphos Life who suffers from Polymyalgia Rheumatica and is trying to taper off Prednisolone?
If so, would love to hear from you, and ask how you do it when we can only get 5mg tablets here in Cyprus.
Thanks

Dominic,
Like you, we have seen and admired the church from afar for a number of years. After watching your recent movie of the drive to the church, would you recommend we attempt it in a saloon car, or not?

Re: Yes or No?
Thank goodness we are in the developed world, HIC. I'm currently reading Bill Bryson's "At Home - a short history of private life". Excellent book on how the ordinary things in life came to be. Having read most of it we are so fortunate to be living now when we can take home comforts for g...

Short hotel stays - government scheme
We noticed with great interest the government scheme for subsidised stays in Cyprus hotels (Cyprus Mail online today). However, when we looked at the list of participating hotels in the Protaras area there were none we recognised. Could anyone recommend a good hotel in the Protaras / Paralimni area ...

Re: TV question
When we watch films shot in Ireland I always remark how lovely and green everything is. Yep, it's because it rains for most days of the year! Same in the Isle of Man where my family are from. I was half thinking of retiring to the Isle of Man until I remembered all the windy and rainy days I experie...

Metal Shepherds Crooks for Lanterns
We're looking for a couple of metal shepherds crooks for hanging solar lamps on. Used to see them in many of the DIY shops and Garden centres but not any more.
If anyone has see them for sale would appreciate knowing, or maybe a recommendation for a metal workshop that could make them.
Thank you
