Re: Bottled Water
Many thanks for spotting the mistake , yes I meant 28mg/l which as you say is high https://gulfnews.com/going-out/society/bottled-water-is-it-all-the-same-1.2012341 Saint Nicholas here is 21mg/l and the one I was buying in 15 litre bottles was 37mg/l . Re: Bottled Water
Yes, sodium free a bit of an overstatement but much reduced from the 2000+ mg allowance and just looking at things I eat and drink that could take the strain to allow me to enjoy stuff that does contain salt. In Italy where we go each year the bottled water boasts 0.5 mg sodium per litre and I wonde...

Bottled Water
Does anyone know of a low or zero sodium bottled water brand sold on the island ? Most seem to be from 28Ml per litre or much higher and as part of my new sodium free diet I'm looking for something less to quench the thirst and use in tea etc.

Re: Weather Forecasts - Your opinions please
I don't use the site weather info as like many others I go direct to the weather site. I also have a place in Southern Italy and when there I only use Accuweather as Weather Underground is useless at forecasting Puglia weather. Recently I have noticed that certainly for my area of Cyprus, Weather Un...

U.S. A. Steps in to Clean up Cyprus
Interesting article, clearly the U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Dept and Terrorist Financing Dept might have more clout than the E.U.seems to have had.

Pay Road Tax for Previous Years How?
My neighbour has returned to Cyprus after an 8 year absence during which time his house has been rented. In the garage he left his Ford Focus Estate. He had no idea that you could SCORN the vehicle here in Cyprus but now wishes to get the car back on the road. The car has now started but how does he...

Re: Electricity prices to go up by 3.9% in November
On November 9th last year €1 bought US$1.642 and a barrel of crude was US$63.93 so it took €54.91 to buy a barrel. today November 9th €1 buys US $1.1404 and the price of a barrel of crude is US$70.98 so it costs €62.25 to buy a barrel a 13% increase . Obviously we buy refined oil but all that needs ...

We use these guys: http://ukexpats.com Far far cheaper than any other quotes we have received for motor, travel and home insurance. They have a close relationship with AIG and I asked about the 6 month GP rule . Yes they confirmed almost all have this rule but their Travel Insurance is designed for ...

Guess while we are in the maybe, possibly, might, discussion , we might as well consider President Nicos Anastasiades loose Federation idea which is no longer just an unspeakable thought as now he has actually spoken the word loose and furthermore has said that it is doable. What will that mean to E...

Re: State may try to recoup repatriation costs from Cobalt, ex employees slam government (Update)
I did say it is certainly not an exact science, far from it but in a start up staff costs must be kept to a minimum . I had some involvement with Easyjet in it's infancy and we had leased in three aircraft on what is known as a wet lease arrangement where the lessor supplied both the flight and cabi...

Interestingly Cobalt " inherited " 2 slot pairs at London Heathrow from Cyprus Airways when they started operations hence their flying them as Cyprus Airways exercising their ( ( Cyprus airways ) grandfather rights to the slots . Scandinavian Airlines sold 2 pairs of slots at Heathrow last...

Re: State to pay for repatriation of Cobalt passengers (video of announcement)
Not sure where the idea that IATA will pay for passengers stranded by airline failure has come from but perhaps it is being confused with the UK ATOL licence which protects against tour operator failure ? The only monies IATA will or might refund are those made through an accredited IATA travel agen...

I always e mail them

Guzin looks after the reservations normally , we book B&B but they will do half board if you don't fancy going into town in the evenings . The breakfasts are good and served either on your balcony or at the roof top restaurant.
Cheers Mike

Re: Unite Cyprus Now calls for confidence building measures
At least the Germans were sensible enough to set land and housing compensation at 1947 levels. The proposals here for compensation at todays property levels would I understand make several hundreds of people millionaires but bankrupt the new federated country before it got off the ground.
