Re: Induction Hob Part 2

I think we'll stick with our gas hob despite having solar panels recently fitted. It can still be used when you have a power cut and from what we've been told it's much easier to adjust the heat quickly.

Product to clean tiles in outside shower stalls

Our small complex has two outside shower stalls. After almost 20 years of use the floor tiles are looking very grubby despite regular cleaning. Can anyone recommend a product that will lift the ingrained dirt and grime to restore them to their almost original state? I know I can visit a variety of h...

Re: Travel Warning for Brits

Slightly off topic but my daughter and partner stayed at Alexander the Great recently and men weren't allowed to wear sandals into the restaurant although the women had no such restrictions. Are men's feet smellier than women's then??

Compounding pharmacists?

Does anyone know if there are compounding pharmacists in Paphos or anywhere in Cyprus? The reason I ask is that I can only get a 5mg dosage of a particular medication here in Cyprus but compounding pharmacists can apparently produce a dosage to order by grounding up the tablets and accurately measur...

Re: Woodburners

We considered a log burner but in the end decided upon LG dual inverters that are excellent for both summer and winter. We also had solar panels installed, and this winter we will probably go for wall mounted heaters.

Re: Cyprus Covid cats can receive unused human vaccines

A lovely female cat turned up yesterday, crying in pain. Her belly was distended so it was thought she was pregnant. Her back end was red and sore and she had bad diarrhea. She was taken to the vet who said that treatment would take a long time and even then she may not survive. Sadly, she was put d...

Re: Re: Jumbo's refunds

OVS offer either a credit voucher or a refund to your card for an original sale. However, if you use the credit voucher to buy something else and then decide to return that item, you will only get another credit voucher. I found out about Jumbo's the hard way, and couldn't believe I had to use the c...

Re: Collecting water from your A/C...

Thanks for the tip Max. I've just put a bowl underneath one of the aircon outlets. Would the water collected be OK to use in a steam iron instead of buying distilled water?

Re: Cyprus Covid cats can receive unused human vaccines

I was told that cats were being infected mainly on the east of the island. Has anyone heard if it's particularly bad around the Paphos area?

Re: Amazon.de and UPS … Ye Gods

No problem with UPS for us either. Always the same guy, always professional. There's only been one problem with ordering from Amazon DE - a pair of sandals that came from China - obviously on a very slow boat that sank! Never arrived......

Thanks Expresspete, we popped into Stephanis this morning and bough the last one. At €49 it's a slightly smaller model but looks as though it will do the job perfectly. OH is reading the instructions as I type this.......

Recommendation for a humidifier

Now that we're happily using our LG aircon units without worrying about large electricity bills, due to the recently installed solar panels, we've noticed that the humidity levels in the house are going down to below 20% which is not good. Has anyone had the same problem and, if so, have they source...

Just to give you some feedback......... I booked with Dr Sarika at St Georges Hospital and was seen 6 weeks later. She treated me for several lesions on my face and then referred me to Dr Antonis Hadjievtichou, plastic surgeon at the same hospital, for surgery to be carried out on a tumour on my for...
