Re: Brexit and MEU1 etc

There are essentially three residency statuses that British expats are entitled to: MEU1 (registration for residents that want to live in Cyprus for more than three months) . . UK nationals visiting the island after that will be allowed to stay here for three months, without a visa. What I have not...

Empty shoe boxes might fit the bill. I'm sure the shoe shops have loads going spare if you ask.

Re: Cyprus one of worst offenders for motorway speeding - EU report

It's easily done, especially for those of us that flip between the UK and Cyprus.
I got a ticket some time back near the airport. Empty road and not watching my speedo.
When you're used to 70mph limit on UK motorways it's easy to make a mistake.

Was on the headland at Paphos last week, in a biting wind, all wrapped up in jumpers and coat wooly hat and gloves.
Couldn't believe the tourist that were wandering about in shorts and thin T-shirts.

Travel Insurance

Having made 66, my Travel Insurance is now going to restricts me to 31 days in any trip when I renew it. As I like to come to Cyprus for about six weeks at a time, four times a year, this is clearly not good. I will have a good look round before I renew it, but has anyone else come across a company ...

Re: Credit card fees in UK

I sell fitted kitchens and have always accepted credit cards as long as the user would pay the charges (between 1.7% and 3.6%) that we get charged, dependant on what card they use. Now I am told I have to raise all my charges so the customers that pay by B.A.C.s have to subsidise those who prefer t...

Re: Beggars - the usual!

Getting a bit fed up being accosted by beggers everytime we walk into Lidls, they are Gypsies from Greece, organised, and dropped off there in a mini bus, i've complained to the manager but just got the shrug of the shoulders. Wonder if the manager would shrug if people started to tell him/her that...

Re: A big ask - info on car hire in UK without a UK debit/credit card

If we've not been able to arrange a pickup at Paphos airport, we have hired a car for one day and taken it back the next day when we go shopping.
Cost us about €25 I think. Less than half the price of a taxi.

Re: These two are wanted for thousands of scams - Do you recognize them? [photos]

I well remember coming over on holiday, before I moved out here. Our late friend Paphos Al alerted me to a good kiosk which gave good rates, but also warned me to count the notes before I left the counter. This I did, and as I reached the end the lovely girl behind the counter slapped another Cy20 ...

I would doubt that the citizens Centre could give you a definitive answer. I would advise contacting the migration department Nicosia for a written response. I would however hazard a guess that it does not apply to you. It is a document registering that you are living in Cyprus for a continuous sta...
