Just wish there was also a ban which was enforced by local councils with a heavy fine added to the next water bill on those using hosepipes to water the pavements and roads in front of domestic properties.

I have a small fixed savings account (bond) with a UK bank and it is renewed automatically unless I notify the bank in writing. I get a letter about 6 weeks before the maturity date with the information.

Agree with you Cactuslil as I have lived here for many years and started off with the Alien Book! Appreciate there is the need to produce actual evidence of living here as there are so many holiday homes and other properties that have overseas owners and are rented out.

When you get your state pension notification it will give you a breakdown of the various sections showing how the DWP arrives at the weekly figure. However, in future letters notifying you of the annual increase each April it will just give the new total. I have just phoned the number on the letter ...

Did my banking earlier today even though it wasn't due until next Wednesday in order to avoid the queues. One bank was very busy and the other had a queue of only 3 people in front but several cashiers in both.
