Re: Bravo EAC

So get a mobile phone then. Remember the Covid pandemic and the requirement to have permisson to leave your home using the SMS system? Quite a few comments from people of all ages who had to use this system that they either shared a mobile phone or didn't have one for various reasons. I sometimes w...

Re: Bravo EAC

Generally so, but it depends on the nature of the problem. If your router, inside your house, packs up then you may have to wait three days – I did – before a bloke comes with a new router. I understand that private houses have no priority for repairs. Until 2020 I paid for a CYTA router with a lan...

Re: Flu/Covid

When people start quoting sites or numbers it is not only helpful to provide a link to the source of their information but also to prove that it is a fact based comment and not just an opinion.

Dominic has shown in a recent comment how easy it is to submit a link on this forum - thanks Dominic.

No I can never have any type of Covid vaccine - as confirmed after rigorous research by MOH Nicosia which issued me with the relevant documentation.

Re: Flu/Covid

From personal experience the side effects of having Covid were minimal compared to the risk of having the vaccine. I just let my immune system cope with it - I had no choice. Yet I know people in the 60+ age group who have no underlying medical conditions at all and yet have had reactions to the vac...

Re: Flu/Covid

A number of people I know are choosing not to have any further Covid vaccinations due to the side effects they have experienced in the days after the vaccination (number of vaccinations received varies from 2-4), with some saying the side effects are still there after a period of time and/or existin...

Re: Cypriot personal tax system

Sunspot, I can appreciate your frustration, but that is why it is best to ask an accountant for individual professional advice rather than on social media. It is a complicated topic at the best of times with different rules for different situations with some areas changing every year. I could comple...

Re: Cypriot personal tax system

As my income is under the UK personal tax threshold I did not have to complete the DT forms when I transferred my tax status to the Cyprus system. When I notified my UK bank that I was now resident in Cyprus it posted me a form requesting my Cyprus tax code in case I ever received interest so any in...

Re: Covid Rapid Test & Vaccination

I prefer the new status that everyone must produce a negative Covid test result regardless of their vaccination status when going into specified establishments. There are now so many different categories depending on how many Covid vaccinations an individual has had since the pandemic started. There...

Re: Masks and mandatory tests following Covid 'outbreak'

Been out this morning Saturday looking for a test centre to get a rapid test as I have an appointment at the hospital on Monday at 8am. All places I have tried are shut as it is a saints day . Re: Update on crematorium?

Gibraltar has a crematorium, and their population is less than 40,000, which is about the same amount as the number of British expats living in the Paphos area. I hope they do open one, it would make things alot easier. And a lot cheaper too. I was quoted €5,000 for a body to be repatriated to the ...

Re: Masks and mandatory tests following Covid 'outbreak'

Still keeping to my personal health and safety measures including sanitising areas such as ATMs prior to use - amazing the filth that appears on the disposable disinfectant wipe used to clean various surfaces - for reasons other than Covid. Makes sense for extra precautions to be used in clinical ar...

Papantoniou and other supermarkets have a Christmas display but not seen any small English sausage rolls - apart from the Frankfurter type you can purchase in the frozen section.

Re: Traffice light cameras

The solution at all traffic light intersections would be to have the yellow hash lines box area (or whatever it's official term happens to be) so that vehicles cannot enter this section unless their exit is clear. So many times traffic cannot move when its lights turn green because people who had pr...

There has been plenty of warning this was going to happen so time for businesses to find other options.
A minor detour for vehicles and public transport.
Some places have access from the rear.

Unlike some areas such as Peyia and Paphos.
