Re: M and S purchase.

Agree, M&S have a very strict stock control within each branch. In the past it seemed easier to change an item, I guess its probably down to having a computerised stock control system where each item must be accounted for. When I was in the UK, I was unable to change a sweater bought in one bran...

A-nice place to go for a meal or a drink in summer. But is usually closed in winter as-its position is quite exposed.

Re: Cyprus raises bar further for citizenship

Seems fair enough, but I tried to learn the language and got floored by the grammar this requires. Now I have a MUKW3 which is a BioMetric Card. I am wondering if this will be more useful than the old MEU3 was if traveling elsewhere in Europe?

Re: Cyprus Postal Service

Hi daveg, Thanks for your reply. Are you talking about actually sending a parcel abroad while in Cyprus? If there is a different form for those of us sending a gift to a friend or relative abroad from CY where do you find it? The post mistress in my local PO only knew about the complicated 4page form...

Re: Recommendations for someone to replace wooden fence

Obvious advantages to an Aluminum fence, no maintenance required. Anything wooden left outside needs reg maintenance and repainting with a wood preservative.

Re: Bravo EAC

I've also had very good service from both EAC and Cyta.I've also been told on occasion by CYTA if my router needs replacing.i go to their office to get it which also avoids waiting. Guess it depends where you live. The only company I had poor service from was believe it or not, G.Air. They sent a te...

Re: Cyprus Postal Service

Letter post isn't the same problem. That tends to languish in sacks either at Larnaca Airport waiting for collection to Limassol, then Paphos. It's parcels even jiffybag which are small ones. There seems to be an obsession to force people to fill in a lengthy form giving their business address, VAT ...

Cyprus Postal Service

I'm wondering if it is possible to complain about difficulty in either sending or non delivery of a parcel sent from abroad? I had extreme difficulty sending a small Christmas present to my sister in Australia. The post mistress told me I must complete an on line form. On the PO tablet, I downloaded...

Re: MUKW3

Sued51 My post was the situation regarding Paphos in1999 and for a few years after. Yes, now when the Immigration office is packed, people queue up on an internal staircase in a newer building. But having an appointment has improved the experience. From reports I hear the Immigration Depts in other ...

Re: MUKW3

See what I said earlier about Immigration in Paphos! One can only guess what their mindset is. Nothing about the way they work has changed over the years of my residence here. Except that more recently it is possible to make an appointment. Hurrah. In the 'old days' there were no appointments. The f...

Re: British in bad books!

Woody2, perhaps you don't know what RAF Akrotiri does to support the Cyprus Govt when called upon? Air-sea rescues mainly in their part of the island, fire fighting particularly big fires in places like the Troodos where ground based services have difficulty reaching fires in inaccessible terrain.Us...

Ha,ha! No these are people who've lived in Cyprus for a longtime. I understand that Limassol Immigration are more reasonable so these petty problems which Paphos have don't arise. Lucky them.

Re: Paphos Seafront Roadworks Update - January 2024

I can’t see the point of this latest revamp, except that there must still be money left over in the Municipal kitty! It seems nonsensical to reduce the number of parking spaces in this area. As people have already been inconvenienced for months while the actual roadworks were being carried out, peop...

Re: Flu/Covid

True. When my sisters and I were children, my mother took each one of us to have all the 'jabs', polio, smallpox, and the others, scarlet fever, diphtheria etc. I find it hard to understand why these days some people refuse jabs for Covid etc. If you protect yourself from disease that's one less per...

Re: Flu/Covid

I had both jabs at the same time last October. One in each arm and had very little reaction, but have spoken to other people since. I was surprised that although some have had them, a number think they aren't necessary... time will tell.

Re: Crown Resorts Horizon Renovation - January 2024

Well, Crown Resort as it formerly was, looked really shabby by the end. It was badly in need of refurbishment and the renewal of its pools and the Spa. As presumably, the spa, indoor pool and gym will all continue to be situated in the hotel's basement. I really hope that the drainage and sanitary f...
