Any Brit abroad voting Brexit was a Turkey voting Xmas...

When it all goes awry for them, as it will, they'll still moan and blame the Remainers...

I would imagine some hotels would also see the coastal pathway removing their 'pretence' of a private beach....

Re: 11 times over the limit??

In Scotland, with the limit being so low, most people now don't drink at all when driving. Previously, people would have a couple of beers, but now, rather than risk it with one or a small glass of wine, most have a soft drink. It has made a massive difference - also to the cost of soft drinks in pu...

Re: Cost of Brexit: The impact on business and the economy so far

Actually Brexit is causing one part of the economy to boom..... that of the consultancy firms, like PWC, who make their coin from re-writing policies and giving advice. Apparently they are booming from work in Westminster, to re-write purchasing guidelines, laws and much more... In Scotland, they an...

Re: German investors redistribute resources following Brexit

The suggestions that unemployment rates are important, ignores the current position. In 2007, there weren't Zero hour contracts. There wasn't as attractive Minimum wages either, but generally, most people feel much better off than now. Public sector pay rises since 2007, have added maybe 7% to their...

Re: Should 16yr olds have the vote?

I believe the current voting age is correct. The fact that young people are more pro-remain only demonstrates that they are more easily taken in by politicians, the “media”, the “experts”, and all the other powerful establishment forces. This is hardly surprising, since most kids have been immersed...

Re: German investors redistribute resources following Brexit

I hate the cut and paste brigade dont they have any thoughts of their own? I realise that most who voted for Brexit don't like to read stuff - whether by link or cut'n'paste -which highlights negative and often unforeseen repercussions of Brexit; but providing the links are from quality publication...

Find out which party, your opinions align to

This is a quick quiz that asks questions on a range of topics, then presents your % alignment to each UK party. It is worth clicking for supplementary questions as it will be more accurate.

I would back this for the statistics given. You can pay tax as a 16 year old and not vote, seems wrong.

The ortolan is a new one on me. Certainly, the battery farms in the U.K. Are nothing to be proud of. With the grip,Tesco and the like have on produce, we now have battery cow sheds, where they never see a blade of grass, nor walk around.

I can't see this latest round not delaying things.

8 years ago, this would have brought well-needed jobs to the area and a huge boost to the economy. More difficult now to find investment.

Re: BirdLife Cyprus condemns Easter Tuesday illegal killing of birds

For historical reasons, many of the islands of the Mediterranean hunt song birds - probably due to historical food reasons from many decades and centuries ago. Today, it's more a tradition condemned by most. Malta seems to the worst offender, with netting still permitted. These islands account for m...

Spookey, but it feels even more like Lenin in Russia, 1917, josef, never mind Erdogan today. Are they both reading from the same song sheet, I wonder? (May and Erdogan, that is) "Crush the Saboteurs" statement was Lenin. Did Theresa May actually state that? If not, certain sections of the...

I really don't understand May's references to being hindered, as Article 50 has been submitted, approved by the Lords and she hasn't been opposed... She seems to be inventing conflict that isn't there, or in truth, hiding the conflict her own party is giving behind closed doors... Any opposition to ...

...As to why Tim Farron deserves a boot, I don't know.... Are politicians in opposition not expected to oppose with their views? Can politicians no longer have views that the hard-right might not like? Some on here need to wind in and remember in a democracy, all views are important. Surely democra...
