Re: UKIP, it's all over!

Opinions are like farts-so hard to hold em in. When one slips, everyone's going to know it- and at least one person is gonna leave the room.
And everyone has 'em, likes their own and hates everyone else's...

Re: No reason at all ...

A bit of humour at last! Talking with some friends the other day, we all wondered why "Spitting Image" had not made a timely comeback, as there is more than enough nonsense around... but then PC would likely intervene and we'd end up with stuff that would make a Politburo meeting seem hila...

Re: 'Enemies of the people': Trump remark echoes history's worst tyrants

A couple of quotes from the article, which was clearly not the outpouring of a Trump fan, (the second quote summarizing the thrust of the piece). “At no time has such hysteria manifested over the executive orders. But in the turbocharged political climate after Trump’s election, Joe and Josephine Si...

Re: FinMin: Cyprus economy recovering

KTG- quite so. And it is not only the NPL ratio but the unaddressed causes of the massive debt- which has changed little- and shows no real signs of changing. Admittedly off-topic, but UK's 2.5% NPL ratio is lowest in a major European economy. Another good reason for getting disentangled ASAP.... ht...

I believe the Mail stopped the use of Wikipedia as a sole source of information in 2014.

Re: The lights are going out all over Europe

If I were cynical I might suspect that one of the reasons younger people voted remain was to avert the possibility of ending up in a beet field themselves.

Re: The lights are going out all over Europe

It seems that the coverage of Trump and his antics- and previously the Brexit saga- had pushed other very significant stories into the background. The Guardian has this today on the elephant in the EU room (not Donald Tusk).... .https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/feb/03/grexit-greece-debt-crisis...

Re: Brexit

Rightly or wrongly, and I find the term"ex=pat" a bit daft, the latter has come to mean a person who has exercised choice backed by self-finance regarding their destination. An immigrant is usually understood to be a person who has been more or less compelled to move to a more prosperous c...

Re: Brexit

Road Warrior- re. “ex-pats”or “immigrants”? An immigrant into the UK today is usually understood to be either an economic migrant who wishes to better him/her self financially, or an asylum seeker; neither are usually high net worth individuals bringing in large sums of money and who are self-suppor...

Well at least we're all agreed that the traditional churches are beautiful, even if I do continue to maintain that as a local voter and property tax payer I may respectfully voice an opinion on new local infrastructure projects such as the above. Why not go up and have a look at it- the views are br...
