Re: British couple injured in road accident
Wonder if there has been any update on this? How are the British couple who were unlucky enough to be involved? And importantly whether the police have found the driver who fled the scene of the accident. Surely, if it was his car the police should be able to find his identity from the car’s logbook...

That’s very good news! But I am not so happy regarding the ‘suspicious circumstances’ not yet being investigated. Though perhaps I’m not really surprised...

Lovely photos, John. I know that area quite well from walking. It is very easy to get to the dam from the village. If coming from the B6,You turn right at the white church and bear to the left as you leave the houses. The lane becomes a track and it leads you down to the dam where the track bends le...

Re: Supreme court hears British man's appeal in lengthy property dispute (Updated)
With the UK no longer a member of the EU, us Brits are now members of a 3rd world country instead of being protected by EU laws. A point to bear in mind with any dealings with the govt here. Those of us who were resident here before 2003 should remember what that means.

Re: Varosha
I can imagine that the Turkish Cypriots also feel sad as they watch the buildings in Varosha gradually deteriorate over the years. This situation could have been resolved years ago had there been a settlement of the Cyprus problem. But this still seems no nearer to a solution, so in this situation m...

This privacy law seems to need sorting out as in its present form it is somewhat nebulous. The point to posting this photo isn’t so much about identity, but it shows how inadequate this little roundabout is. There isn’t even a sign before the roundabout warning drivers going towards Coral Bay that t...

Re: Paphos: Online petition launched against destruction of environment
I agree with the points raised by Lofos Jan and Yioula makes some telling points too. I also feel strongly about the loss or partial loss of both trees and green areas. Why is it that successive Mayors want to increase the amount of concrete around the town? When the new high rises start to be built...

They fly over my house too, but it doesn’t worry me. The noise is here and then gone. I am more concerned with the sustained noise made by power drills, angle grinders, sledge hammers etc as in demolition work which sometimes lasts for ages. Aircraft noise doesn’t last very long when an aircraft ove...

Re: Akamas National Park ready in 2022
I hope so too! But we’ll have to wait and see. But building a ‘Theme Park’ is likely to be visible. It would probably look better if most of the buildings are built with traditional materials and have stone faced walls, terracottas roof tiles and wood. Not steel, concrete and adorned with plastic in...

Yes, agreed and they should be vigilant at all times, every time they are out on the roads around Paphos. Not just in weekly or occasional bursts.

My box had the same problem last night starting about 7.10. But with a helpful email from Triotech support, I was able to put it right, first thing this morning. So now it is back to normal service.

Sadly the Koh-i -Noor restaurant on Tomb of the Kings Rd has closed. Which is sad as it was a favourite of ours. However they now have a take away in Kissonerga, so their food is still available.

Good move by the police to target no seat belt driving, also for children It will be good thing all round toI get the parents to install child car seats. No more kids standing up on the back seat or between the front seats!

Re: Mainly fine today, showers forecast for tomorrow
According to ”weatherunderground” today and tomorrow will both be fine and dry, or at least in the areas close to the coast. Temps up to 18c. The mountain weather is of more of an academic interest, unless one is actually intending to drive Up into the mountains, Rain and wind condition are more lik...

Re: Yes another lovely Day
I check ‘weatherunderground’ which I find to be pretty accurate with weather forecasting here. Today they were predicting a sunny and breezy day with a wind from the northern direction. Which is what happened!I left a full washing line in my garden and went out for the day. Not a drop of rain today ...

I do too! When something like this happens it reflects badly on the British population here as a whole.

Yes, there has always been a small charge for ordering a cheque book, but the current fees from memory are now €12 if you order cheque book on line. Charge of €20 if you ask when you are in branch..

Re: British woman returns to Cyprus, arrested for failing to pay old hotel bill
Yes, this applies to Alpha Bank at branch level. There is a fee of €3 if you simply want to draw money out of your account using the cashier and another charge if you want to transfer money from one of your accounts to the other using the cashier. A further extra charge should you want to apply for ...
