Re: MEU1 (sorry!)

You could research the government website Spock (links provided on other MEU1/MEU3 threads) or by asking Gwenny-Mary, to get a definitive answer. If there is arequirement for you to have them, then you would have to get one each. Me and wife did before we applied for our MEU3s and we now have one o...

MEU1 (sorry!)

As a relative newbie, I risk posting something that has been discussed at length. If so, perhaps someone would point me in the right direction. I am trying to find out about the MEU1 form. My wife and I are retired and own a property in Cyprus (as well as the UK). We spend perhaps 160 days each year...

Re: Car sales recommendations.

Do car dealers give part exchange? If I change my old banger wouldn't be worth a lot, but it would mean something if they took it off my hands and sorted the paperwork out.

Re: Paphos Water

Fascinating article on Geosmin on Wikipedia.
Apparently .... ....Under acidic conditions, geosmin decomposes into odorless substances.....
So perhaps a few drops of lemon juice in the water before boiling will help.

Re: Bug Help

Think its a fire bug Pyrrhocoris apterus also found in the UK. Think this one is the similar looking Caenocoris nerii, family Lygaeidae, seed bugs. Lives solely on oleander and can sometimes form very large groups. Don't know if it is harmful or not. It's a very common bug, and I can't say I've eve...

Re: New labels coming to petrol pumps

I filled up in Stroumpi last week and noticed the filler nozzle had a different colour - blue from memory but I might be wrong. It's usually green (again from memory!!) so I asked him to check it wasn't diesel he was putting in.

Don't recall any change in labeling or signage though.

Premier Electric at Mesoggi for me.
Wired and plumbed it in and took away the old one.
Happy with the price too, and next day delivery after ordering.

Re: Sheffield

Sounds just like Bury market. Sprawling place, very busy with loads of old fashioned stalls selling all sorts of stuff. Great for cheese, black pudding (yuk!), pies. Got a cheap Cypriot cafe in it too, serving great food.

It's a good job that they seem to be able to tell male from female.
I could imagine some of them getting a bit of a shock if they couldn't!

Water level at Argaka yesterday. You can clearly see where it should be when full.

Re: Any Bee-eater sightings yet?

They've been coming over in the many hundreds this last week in the Polis area. You can hear them all day long. Look or listen particularly in the morning or evening. As for your other sighting, do you think it was a bird? If so, Golden Orioles are also migrating through and Willow Warblers are arou...
