Re: Snouts in the trough
Flown to the states many times with USA airlines and Virgin Atlantic, and while waiting in the departure gate, if they have spare places in business they would come out and ask if anyone would like to upgrade for a sum of money, the nearer the flight take off, the less they would ask, I remember onc...

Re: The cost of Amazon.
Does not explain to me why the very high recent shipping charges increases, the last four item I have attempted to buy via Amazon UK were more than the cost of the ordered item. I only buy or did buy on Amazon items that are not readily available locally. I also use Amazon DE the shipping is slight...

Re: Snouts in the trough
It may not be as bad as you think! A goodly number of years ago when the real Swissair flew to Larnaca from Geneva, I was firmly ensconced in a business class seat when the president of the Republic, Glafcos Clerides, came on board with his entourage of about eight persons. Like me, he sat in busin...

Agree with trev, personally my view is the more data the authorities have, on who is entering/ leaving the country the better, if you play by the rules you have nothing to fear.

Re: Sklavenitis (Carrefore)
I sometimes shop in the Larnaca store, and in my view there is never enough shoppers in there, to cover the cost of the electricity bill they must have, let alone anything else, Compared to their shop in Kiti the one in Larnaca is packed. Hardly ever the number of customers exceeds the number of em...

Re: Appointment for MEU 3
Re checking up on people at the Airport.. I am sure I have read of people being stopped when leaving the country because there were outstanding fines that they had not paid. I have no 'link' to this information, I just read it in the online news .. Found it Re: Almost 2,000 traffic violations in on...

It is also not so good that the results were not in English Greek and Turkish are the official languages of Cyprus, yes it would be good if they were in English, but there lies the problem, you go down that route you then must be fair and have it in Russian, Arabic, Polish, French, Italian etc etc ...

Re: New Sampling Points Announced For Free COVID Tests
The testing station at 28 Oct square was busier on Monday when I had mine, which was the first day of these free tests. I was later told that most people who had had the test on Monday were negative to the virus. I think that it may be a way for the Govt to get an idea how active the virus is in th...

Now I got curious and googled. Passenger data are stored for 5 years but can only be accessed (source: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/personal-details-hundreds-millions-passengers-travelling-and-out-eu-be-stored-airlines-five-years-10422023.html). Re: Appointment for MEU 3
I shouldn't think so, Jeba. These days information stored on computers it's easier for immigration officers to access such important information. Now I got curious and googled. Passenger data are stored for 5 years but can only be accessed if a serious crime is suspected, such as human and drug tra...
