I rather like the idea of a roundabout on a roundabout. They all look good. There's a rather interesting looking tree on the new square above the market car park, and lots to see outside the Town Hall.
Well done Paphos Municipality.

Re: Brexit: Facts vs. Fear, with Stephen Fry
Stephen Fry's video was packed with facts and figures, and demolished a number of myths, misunderstandings, and downright lies. It gave a clearer view of the whole Brexit debate and, yes, I am a remainer so it fitted my views. I hadn't heard of Pat Condell, so I watched his video from start to finis...

Re: Campaign to target impatient, careless and rude drivers
My wife has recently passed her driving test here in Cyprus. During her time learning she used two driving schools and I can't fault them regarding what they taught her, so I suggest the blame for Cypriot driving style should be directed elsewhere. The only problem is that she can now legitimately c...

Another great example of how things could be, if only the politicians would keep their noses out and let the people get on with restoring peace and unity in Cyprus.

Re: The historical buildings of Paphos will be illuminated at a cost of almost half a million euros
You are quite right Dominic. I suspect there is more information on the walkway in the Greek language press. The problem is that most Brits can't read it, and as most don't live in Paphos anyway there an insufficient case to publish in English. Not a criticism but it's true. The lighting up of signi...

Not exactly an independent point of view. This is obviously written by someone definitely opposed to the deal as written, as can be surmised by the language used, and should therefore be taken with a pinch of salt.

The full article as published in the paper includes the following paragraph: "The plaintiffs say they have eyewitnesses, declassified documents, newspaper reports and medical evidence. The arguments of the Cypriot claimants are also expecting a boost from International Red Cross archives."...

Re: By the time some of you read this, May could be gone....
An interesting aside I note from the withdrawal paper just published, is that there has been a lot of effort put into ensuring there is not a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland or one between Northern Ireland and the UK. However, it would seem there will now be a hard border between th...

Re: By the time some of you read this, May could be gone....
You really couldn't make this up could you. All this mess comes down to issues related to Northern Ireland, a province most British don't really want in the UK if they were honest. It certainly wasn't to the fore in people's minds when they voted in the referendum. May is busy trying to square the c...

Well someone must be paying the hosting service, or it would have been taken down I would have thought.
Having read through the web site, it seems to be giving the physical details of the place as part of a sales pitch.

A good journalist will always check their facts before publishing. A quick read of the Cyprus Mail online would have been a start. Unfortunately, journalistic standards have slipped these days.

Re: Car sales recommendations.
Josef, Is there a reason that you don't want to buy private? Yes, it is primarily for the warranty. I have never had a problem with garages not honouring them. Also garages do have a reputation to maintain and wouldn't knowingly sell a "lemon". Yes. I know some do, but that is why I start...

Car sales recommendations.
I am considering buying a car (Yaris/Vitz or similar) in the Paphos area. I want to use a garage rather than buy privately, and was wondering if any of you had any recommendations from your own experience. If you know a good place then post on here. If you know a bad place then you had better PM me....

Currently, private companies and organisations are prevented by law from clamping (which is why Hermes had to stop doing it at the airport). I believe the police could do it but don't have the equipment do it at the moment.

Re: Pafilia had enough, waiting for permits to built Marina
No, Paphos Town Council is the municipality, i.e. Paphos Municipality, and their responsibility ends at the border with Chloraka or Emba. The proposed marina is wholly within the Kissonerga Community Council boundary. Paphos District Office (covering the whole Paphos district including Paphos and Po...

You could try the Philippine supermarket or the Philippine/Romanian kiosk in Paphos old town. You will find the supermarket in the building on the corner behind Boulevard cafe, diagonally opposite the old police station. If you exit that building to the rear you will find the kiosk opposite across a...
