GESY current year?

In all the recent emails I get from GESY I find “Total co-payment amount paid in the current year: €150.00”

As a matter of interest when does the “current year” start and finish?

Re: Secure delivery of letter to the UK

We use registered post from the post office. Under €4 for a passport and arrived within a week. Very reliable in our experience.

I assume an app is required. Would this be Pafos Smart Park?

St George’s Hospital parking

I had an appointment today at St George’s Hospital and the side roads where I normally park were jammed. I drove round the block to see parking spaces directly outside of the hospital. I parked, went for my appointment and returned to my car. As I drove off I noticed a sign which said parking was ch...

New white goods reduce electricity bill.

We recently replaced two of our very elderly air conditioners and are delighted with the efficiency of the new Inverter Direct units in our living area and our bedroom. In addition they feature a “Sleep” mode, which we use at night. Absolutely brilliant. We have used air con over this hot summer ver...

Post-haste UK Passport delivery

My darling wife had to renew her UK passport recently. We filled in the form online and then took the required photograph. It was rejected four or five times, and then Ann put in the comments box that it was the best photograph she could do. It was then accepted. Twenty days later her new passport a...

Garden Chair repair …

Does anyone know where we can buy the material to repair the backing to garden chairs? The material is fitted between the two uprights at the back of the chair and pulled tight.

Denture Adhesive query

My wife is finding her adhesive, for partial dentures, to be unsatisfactory. Can anyone recommend an adhesive they have been satisfied with?

Induction Hob Part 2

Our planned induction hob moved down the wish list, once my darling wife’s attention was directed to water dispensers. Now that is achieved, the next target is an induction hob. I am aware there are advantages and disadvantages to them and one of the points we have found is that some hobs have disti...

Re: Water Dispenser Query?

Water dispenser arrived and we had bought an 11 litre water bottle in preparation (as our local bakery did not stock 10 litre bottles). Imagine our surprise when our new water dispenser instructions said to use only 11 or 19 litre bottles. Terrific service from https://savvas-eracleous.com/ in Papho...

Water Dispenser Query?

We are buying a water dispenser, where the bottle is at the bottom of the dispenser. As we don’t want to hump 15 litre bottles, we want to use a 10 litre bottle. Unfortunately the shop we intend to buy from, is unable to confirm that a 10 litre bottle would fit and the manufacturers are not picking ...

Anyone struggling to find this match tonight (if you do not have Amazon) then “Supersport Rugby” is normally your choice. But that channel is stuck in a loop. But there is a channel called “Supersport Grandstand” which is showing all the rugby.

Yes. Our state pensions and my public sector pensions are all taxed here. Public sector pensions will change next year, according to my accountant.

Amazon.de and UPS … Ye Gods

I had to order a small piece of kitchen equipment from Amazon.de as it was impossible to buy in Cyprus. I swallowed the exorbitant delivery charges, and waited, and waited, and waited. Expedited delivery was meant to be on the Wednesday after a Monday order. No! There was a problem. Oops. And then v...
