Re: At what elevation to expect snow / frost
I too would say that from Polemi to Lidl just off Polis road is 15 to 20 minutes. There are two 'supermarkets' / large kiosks in Polemi.. and at least one other in Stroumpi 19 minutes is my average. Which i noticed the other day is exactly the same time it took me to drive from the stadium in Peyia...

Re: At what elevation to expect snow / frost
As with Trevor we are also in Polemi on the the other side of the ‘basin’, but at the same altitude. We have had flurries of snow probably 3 or 4 times in our 6 winters here, it’s settled twice and never stayed overnight except in well shaded bits. Frost is not uncommon, but only around very early i...

Re: Rules for people in cars
It was 3 in the April decree, but the English version of the latest decree is now on PIO and does not contain this clause anymore, it just states on page 4 “ n) The Ministry of Transports, Communications and Works shall issue guidelines pertaining to the transport of people by all regular buses with...

I am trying to find the same thing. I have scanned the Greek version of the latest decree on PIO. U.K. nothing is jumping out at me with my current Greek skills so waiting for the English version to be posted.

Re: Paphos signs contact for "smart" parking system
Dee, So whats the point in saying Emory meaningless phrases like “which some use to for the supermarket shop of a few carrier bags of groceries”. What’s the fact the that a big car may only have a bit of shopping in it go to do with anything? It’s as pointless as arguing that nobody need a house wit...

Are we supposed to base our vehicle purchases on some sort of formula based on quantity of shopping bags?

Re: Coronavirus: Cabinet introduces Coronapass for access to venues after lockdown ends
I think the 'Coronapass' is just a matter of carrying around your vaccination certificate / details Correct Trev. It’s effectively a virtual / implied document. As per the last point of the article: “ 34. Conditions coronapass - Negative test (pcr / rapid) power within 72 hours - Vaccination with at...

Trevor, signs in Lidl and Alpha Mega last week said closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We just had the same text about Papantoniou as galexinda, though their Facebook pages on'y confirms closed Saturday but perhaps that just refers to ALL stores closed then.

This will be interesting. My darling wife’s cataract procedure is due to take place on Monday 26th. We live 45 minutes from Paphos and we expect to be there for about two-three hours. One SMS ... If it helps, after collecting a friend from hospital after surgery a couple of weeks ago we were given ...

Re: Paphos Hotels
Currently, hotel guests do not need a mask as when by a pool. It’s very clear in the travel protocols on Visit Cyprus, FlightPass and PIO so nobody should be surprised if they see people not wearing them by the pool or bar areas if you’re down that way. At least the tourists appear to be reading the...

Re: Radio Viva FM, your opinion?
Overall prefer Rock FM but have Viva on in the to try it out, when it comes to shows without DJs and it’s just a playlist, I much prefer my own music from the phone in the car as at least I know I like it all. That’s why I turned off from Sunshine when we first came over here.

Dee, what’s long winded? That’s how the decrees are written if you’ve ever read them and why I summarised. However, I agree that if people are sticking there heads in the sand and only want the Pfizer jab, it won’t change things. BUT this change could encourage those in the working population who ar...

I would like to see the evidence that the spike in cases is being caused by Restaurants and Bars. Every one I have been in has religiously stuck to the governments guidelines of distancing, hygiene etc. Agree, stats on the types of places that are generating positives is potentially far more useful...

Re: Coronavirus: personal doctors will be allowed to administer AZ jabs, no portal necessary
Good idea if the GP’s can handle the extra workload, also good that the Gov is prepared to be flexible and adapt their plans for the vaccination programme. Surprised that few people have picked up on the penultimate clause in the 16/4 decree: 2.4 Regulation 2.39 of the Quarantine (Determination of M...
