Think it could be owned by the municipality. Was told by the deputy mayor that the toilets there were public ones.

Re: Snow flurry in Troodos yesterday afternoon (CM)
We have done well so far this Autumn. For the past 3 winters we have kept cosy and warm with our aircon units on heat and a couple of oil filled radiators just for a boost. Cost, minimum with our pv panels. Biggest bill so far, €120 and this included heating our pool. We have plenty of electricity i...

Re: Nip in the air
Down to 13c when we came back from Rosemary's physio session in Paphos at 6pm. First time I have had a jumper on for my walk. Looks as if it is going to be a cool night. Pool down to 24c with the cover on today and I got it up to 27c with the heater on for 4 hours. Expect to lose 2c during the night...

Old Bedford bus
Rosemary is attending physio 3 times a week at a place between Alpha Mega and what we used to call Butcher Boy Road. For the half hour or so I go for a walk around the back streets. Amazing what you find. Took this photo on a street between Butcher Boy Road and the Evangelimos Hospital. Paphos Al, g...

Re: Paphos Seafront After The Storm
I think the new path looks very stark compared to the old one. When the original path was constructed, local school children designed mosaics and other pictures in the pathway. Over the years these disappeared as the path was repaired. However, the new path is more wheelchair friendly and was busy t...

Re: Paphos Seafront After The Storm
A little later in the day, between 11am and noon, I walked from the Imperial Hotel to the headland that overlooks Lighthouse Beach. Felt a few spots of rain so turned back. Locals all wrapped up and holidaymakers still in shorts and t shirts. Air temperature, according to one of the mayor's electron...

Re: Ten-pin bowling in Paphos?
We used to go regularly to Cosmic when we first bought our home here, as did a lot of our neighbours. Must start going again as we used to really enjoy it, plus, it was much cheaper than bowling in the UK.

Re: Praise for the Blue Cross Hospital.
Hope you recover quickly Trev. Many years ago our daughter Rachel was in the Blue Cross with food poisoning. We were on holiday here at the time. Dr Dora came to see her every day, including Sundays. Her treatment and care was brilliant. Rosemary had just had a knee repacement at the Evangelimos(sp?...

Re: My cars headlights.
We had ours done at the car wash place at the Mall. Did a really good job. We used to smoke in the car, and the interior roof was niccotine stained. Had a full valet, including the roof, and now no sign of anyone ever smoked in the car.

Don't know, but would love to know the answer. Also, in the UK, all over 65s are being innoculated against shingles. Is this happening in Cyprus.

Glad to see your name appearing on the forum again. I still post but also post on the Paphos Chat Facebook page. I suppose your team are doing well, compared to the 3 clubs to the east of you, who are now playing non league. I used to watch all three when I lived in Rochdale. Are you planning to vis...

Re: Is it really worth hosing the solar panels?
I don't think it's worth paying someone to clean them. The cost outways the payoff in terms of electric generated. We gently hose ours when it is cooler, in the late evening, if they are very dusty. Otherwise, a heavy downpour of clean rain will clean most of the dust off them. Here in the UK, our S...

Re: Solar panels
Having pv panels in Cyprus is a no brainer, even for low users of electricity especially if you have a pool. In the UK I look on our pv panels as an investment and I will be quite happy if I get a 5% return each year. In the UK, so far, in the 3 weeks our panels were fitted, but we were not allowed g...

Re: Recommendation for a humidifier
In the olden days, when people had two and three bar electric fires, they used to have bowls of water scattered around the house. We run our aircon on 26c in our main living areas and are quite comfortable. Bedrooms, 25c but always have a bottle of water by the bed and drink if we wake up.

Re: No sufficient land in Cyprus for photo-voltaic installations..?.
Interesting article, but, like you, I have to disagree with the point of a lack of land for pv farms. Why can't the land used for wind farms also be utilised for pv panels. Here in Wales there are quite a few solar farms. One enterprising Anglesey farmer has even developed a breed of sheep which nee...

Re: Waiting time reduced for photo-voltaic installations.. CM
In the UK, permission came through today, 3 days after submitting, so we have now got a number we can quote to our supplier. Our 13.5 kwh Tesla battery will be fitted next week. However, even on a full cloud cover, rainy day, we are still producing between 100 watts and 900 watts, which is enough to...

Re: Waiting time reduced for photo-voltaic installations.. CM
Just had a PV system fitted in the UK. We have to apply to the power company that supplies our electricity with a G98 form before we can start exporting to our billing company, which is a different company than the supply company. We will then get a DNO from Scottish Power which we send to Octopus E...

Mark, looking at my figures I agree, an eddi which would hardly be worth it. If the pv energy was all diverted to heating the pool the saving would only be around €1 per

Re: Emission fines inflate our electricity bills...
We have an app on our phone which tells us how much electricity we have produced each day. It also shows us how much each of our panels are producing each day, week, month, year. Our meter has two readings, consumed and exported, so we know exactly how much we have used each day, from the grid and w...

Re: Police meet to discuss criminalisation of false complaints
Wonder if the new laws could be used against the present mayor, as he has criticised the police on several occasions most recently about drugs. Could be a very dangerous law. Complaints need to be investigated independently.
