Re: Interesting

I'm 68, born in 1948. And I have a degree in Mathematics, so my addition is pretty much up to scratch. ;) Please explain, WHL. :? Basically, WHL has demonstrated that if you add your age to the year you were born in, you get the current year. This only works if you have already had your birthday th...

The previous owner of the land was Neophytos Monastery, so not likely. All a mystery. And has been for many years.

Re: Sun bed replacement cover

As a point of interest, wonder if you know that Abbeygate have now moved from Ellados Ave, to Chloraka? They're at the end of a row of shops diagonally opp to Papantinou's and next to a hairdressers. Dee Thanks, Dee. We have all of our insurance with them, and they haven't mentioned their move! :o

Re: Oil Drum Lane

You see that quite a lot out towards the mountains. But not in a Leptos development! The photo doesn't show that the road is just off the main thoroughfare through Kamares, Kamares Avenue. It's been like that for many years and presumably the owner of the property (to the left of the photo) has use...

It is difficult to tell the exact time. Also in Winter it takes longer. And the size of your meat pieces as well as which meat (pork or lamb or goat ) If it is windy a lot of heat goes somewhere. Average is ca 1 hour and white coal or wood have to be added from time to time...Also the quality of th...

Re: Oil Drum Lane

Is this the road in Kamares, Tala? If not, I'm staggered there's another one like it!

If it is the Kamares road, then it's been like this for many, many years, and I know no-one who can explain why it is like it. Surprised Leptos haven't done anything about it.

You can't book at Namaste, but don't worry, I'm sure there'll be a table available. Its doors open at 6pm, BTW. Closed for lunch.

I'll second wills comment. Probably the best curry house in Paphos, ever. Outstanding.

Re: Britain’s top 10 curries.

On the subject of curries, and strictly speaking this comment belongs elsewhere, but have you tried Namaste resto. South Indian street food. Near the big church/cathedral in Paphos (just down the road from the Almond Tree). Best Indian ever in Paphos. Not that there's ever been much competition. Onl...

Re: Britain’s top 10 curries.

Call me a snowflake, but I still believe Lloyd Grossman curries to be the best. When the wife's in the UK and I am in charge of cooking, I don't expect any meal to take me more that two minutes to cook (or rather heat up) I can do that with a Lloyd Grossman. Chuck it in a pan with some thawed...

Re: Britain’s top 10 curries.

Chicken tikka masala no longer Britain's favourite curry - here's the new titleholder 1 Korma, 17 per cent. 2 Tikka masala, 16pc. 3 Madras 11pc. 4 Jalfrezi, 9pc. 5 Vindaloo, 8pc. 6 Balti, 7pc. 7 Bhuna, 6pc. 8 Dopiaza, 4pc. 9 Saag, 2pc. 10 Rogan Josh, 1pc. Pfft. Those are for wimps. What's wrong wit...

Yes, I do. I have a degree in porcine ingestation management (but I'm not an engineer).

Yes, it looks odd, but less hassle on the cleaning front than a grill.

Around the world with Amazon

Two weeks ago I ordered a toaster from Amazon. It is being sent from their warehouse in Germany, using DHL <sigh>. It is trackable, so occasionally I've been monitoring its progress, or lack of it. It moved within Germany after a couple of days, then stagnated for a week. Then the tracking said it w...

Perhaps they were up early before going to Lidl for the special offers! The TOTK branch was bombed out at 7.30am today, with shoppers seemingly keen on the bedding.
