Re: Government FAQ on lockdown updated.

I'm feeding a friend's pets, a couple of miles away, whilst they are in the UK. Until this new amendment, I could fit it in Category 8. Des this now mean I have to leave them to starve?

As an aside, suggest "The Beekeeper", a 1986 film, as a good evening's viewing. Not related to the Beekeeper of Aleppo.

Re: Expats refused flights

. Did you know that all travelers from the UK are tested again at Paphos or Larnaca airports on arrival and if found positive are taken to a Govt quarantine hotel for 7 days isolation. After 6 days they are retested and if found negative can go home, but must self isolate for a further 3 days. Dee ...

Re: Vaccination portal

Does anyone know what the situation will be for those of us with an MEU1 and not in GESY? Legal residents, but as far as I can see the vaccine portal is just for GESY members.

My understanding is that if your test after 6/7 days' quarantine proves negative, you can go home but must self-isolate for a further 3 days. Check the CY Govt POI site.

Re: Grill Pan

Good suggestion from HiC.

If that fails, try Spontas on the one-way system in the old town - just past the old open-air market. (It's on the left - they're having a makeover and I don't think their name is on the front of the shop yet)

Aphrodite.

When the lockdown is over, visit the Amphitheatre Cafe and have a word with Robert. He's a horticulturist by training and grows lavender at the cafe.

Re: Cheap calls to UK.

Check out Freecall.com.

You make (or used to!) an initial payment of €5. Calls to UK landlines are then free, no matter how many calls you make. Calls to UK mobiles are €0.10 per minute, taken from your initial €5. When you credit is running low, you top it up.

Re: Almost 2,000 traffic violations in only three days

At present it seems as if the increase in motoring fines which was announced recently is not having the desired effect. I wonder how many motorists will actually pay their fines? I did notice that at Paps supermarket this morning that for a change no one had parked in their 3 disabled parking slots...

Re: Sending Parcels off the island

You have to go a long way to beat the Post Office. I have many times sent parcels via. EMS at the Post service. Fast delivery and reasonable rates. We used EMS for many years when we were working here, to send docs etc to clients in the UK and the service was second to none. Cheaper than the main w...

JohnnyWelsh & Mouse: you're spot on. Just before you get to Julietta's on the opposite side of the road.

Ironically, I came out empty handed for the first time today! I wanted some black cable clips but they don't stock them.
