Re: 1st time driving over to Karpas peninsula - help/info needed
As RW points out, your CYTA mobile, will not work once you are out of range of coverage from the South. If you have a UK mobile take it, it will, work. But at a big price on TRNC mobile tariffs, so don't use it for idle chat! Just keep it in case of emergency, yeah? Why on earth can Cyta not arrange ...

Re: Ants
This year has been dreadful for ants invading our kitchen, getting into the drawers and amassing around the tiniest crumb. I've tried sprays, which work immediately but just for the moment, next day they are back. I bought some sticky ant traps and put those down, the ants just ignored them and went...

Re: Private hospitals in Paphos
Pete, Don't agree with your statement that no one will get ill as a result of dirty and badly maintained toilet facilities. Dirty non flushing toilets, plus no proper handwashing facilities in a part of the hospital where patients wait sometimes for hours to see a doctor is a health hazard in many ...

Re: Private hospitals in Paphos
Quality post, Pete... Maybe they should send a high level bod out here to UK and work alongside Macmillan nurses, in order to see how it should be done properly, day and night, particularly palliative care... Cheers- AL Thanks, Al. Sadly I don't think the solution is a simple as your suggestion. I ...

Re: Private hospitals in Paphos
Cleanliness, good manners and kindness do not cost money but it seems that here in Cyprus all of those are at a premium. Cleanliness costs a great deal of money in hospitals. The cost of dealing with MRSA in the UK was in millions. I always feel that you can approach cleanliness on 2 fronts. The pi...

The British contributed in many other ways too. For example: Lapithiou is a village located on the southwest foothills of the Troodos mountain range, two kilometers southwest of Panayia Khrysorroyiatissa monastery. The village was completely destroyed during the 1953 earthquake, and in 1954 the gove...

Re: Private hospitals in Paphos
I don't think generalizing all private clinics in a negative way as you have, does any good, I and family members have had excellent treatment from private clinics over the years here in Cyprus, Very well said. To describe all private doctors in Paphos as charlatans is just plain silly, and grossly...

I agree too. The only thing I would add is that I disagree with Markwoods39's statement that "All forums should be freedom of speech no matter what the admin thinks". That may be applicable if forums were democracies but they are not. They are dictatorships and we can only hope that this f...
