Re: Sat Nav
In contrast Pete, I use my Garmin satnav all the time in Cyprus. Trouble is, Cypriots (bless their little cotton socks) prefer to say "Do you know where this is...turn left there...go straight...turn right there". Sometimes it's a real job to get the message across that all I need is thei...

Re: Sat Nav
I have a Garmin car SatNav which served us well in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Lithuania and the UK. I've never used it over here for the simple reason that I can't ask it to take me to Shop X which is next to Kiosk Y and opposite Furniture Shop Z. Postcodes only take you to villages or areas in to...

Re: Med Prices are now live
I'd prefer to have it open in a new tab. Pete Pete, If you right click on the text link to the Meds file, you should see the option to "Open in a new tab" then the default link setup won't take you away from the forum when you click on it.... Quite right but easier just to press CTRL and ...

Re: JCC payments
Can't understand why people don't use direct debit for paying electricity or Cyta bills :? Possibly because setting up DDs here is a pain the butt. They seem to insist of you attending their offices to fill the form rather than online. When I set up my electricity DD it took them 3 months to activa...

Re: Cyprus set for new gold rush
The last time I heard about gold prospecting here there were helicopters scanning the land around us for days.

Re: No news day tomorrow
As far as I know there is a Cyprus Mail today. Most of the time the day AFTER a public holiday there isn't a newspaper. Which makes sense as it is the religious public holidays that are enforced rigidly. And for once I don't think you can blame the Unions otherwise they would have everything includ...

Re: Hard or Soft.....
Well you all seem to agree, so not much to discuss! However, I'm a remainer(please note spelling!) Just because I happen to disagree with the idea of a Brexit, I am not moaning! I think that it is still too early to speculate on exactly what a brexit will mean for the country. In my view what matte...
