You will get a text message from the PO when your goods arrive, go there and they will charge accordingly.
You should not be charged VAT at the UK end but will be charged VAT at this end together with a customs handling charge.

I popped to the UK and back a couple of weeks ago. When I arrived back in Paphos I showed immigration my passport and the biometric MUKW3, and he still stamped my passport. I think some of them just like stamping stuff. He was wrong to do so.. Nothing to be concerned about, well not for me anyway.

As for refunds, Cyprus may belong to the EU, but I don't believe that they like to abide by EU rules. In the EU cars are required an MOT after 4 years then every 2 years after that.
