Re: Stephen Hawking versus Jeremy Hunt

Actually I think the biggest problem in the NHS was the stupid decision on PFI, the trusts are struggling to pay the private companies who are making great returns on the new hospitals etc, a LABOUR policy, and the contracts cannot be re-negotiated as far as I understand.

Re: EU facing serious problems it seems

Jeba, depositors were not bailed out, they got any amounts over 100k stolen and given junk shares in exchange. Buying shares is a high risk operation, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose - but we all know that can happen and manage our portfolios accordingly. What happened here was different - my ...

Re: EU facing serious problems it seems

The EU´s money (after all more than € 10,000 per capita) helped avoid an almost complete wipeout. Why should other countries taxpayers bail out those who made bad choices and entrusted their money to failing banks (and got a higher interest for taking on that risk)? In view of the circumstances the...

Re: Cyta

some tv suppliers say 2MB, but I would suggest a minimum of 6MB, but of you want to stream some sports channels they do need more - so say min 10Mb. If you have devices that sync with the cloud they do take quite a lot of bandwidth whilst syncing. Also, many of today's games do use quite a bit. Howe...

Re: EU facing serious problems it seems

There is a slightly larger issue looming, that has not been greatly reported. It seems that unless the EU covers the 2020-2027 budget contributions from someone, they may have a bit of a problem filling a small 100Bn black hole, that will appear after 2019/20, or of course they will have to adjust t...

Re: BREXIT negotiations re UK citizens in the EU and EU citizens in the UK

Josef, In 1973 the world was different. How many Japanese cars were in the UK, ok a few Datsuns/Toyota's, a few Honda Motorbikes, no Indian call centres, in fact no computers unless from IBM/ICL and possibly a commodore pet - I think I have one somewhere from the 70's, plus even a 1971 Honda Motorbi...

Re: Brexit: Vote Leave chief who created £350m NHS lie on bus admits leaving EU could be 'an error'

Plus, HIC could not be bothered to vote, so one must assume he would accept the result of the others who did vote. No One was "suckered" in by any campaign, everyone voted as they saw in the best interests of the Country, no one seriously belived the bus slogan, just as no one (except stud...

Re: The Brexit negotiations

This Divorce bill seems a little high to me. I understand the current budget was for 7 years, ending in 2020. As the UK pays a net contribution of about 10bn per year, and will have presumably have paid another 20bn net by 2019, the max it can be is 10bn to 2020, plus any pension commitments, report...

Re: CYTANET-Mandatory purchase of more upload- Experiences?

Yes they can access the router, but the router will not show how much each individual device is using. What I do is monitor the connection and then switch each device off in turn, then the rogue device will show up when the upload stops - not sure that CYTA will do that for you.

Re: CYTANET-Mandatory purchase of more upload- Experiences?

Hi Peter, I would check your devices, because I just looked at how many customers are using more than .5mb upload, and it is in only a handfull, one is using up to 10Mb upload, but on checking they have CCTV. CYTA will not be able to tell which MAC/Device is using the upload, because it will be behi...

Well tried everything, except changing to Apple! The lapton was delivered with windows 8, but was upgraded to windowz 10 straight away, so never used win 8, which I did not like anyway. I even let Ian use the laptop today, and it was driving him mad as well! As soon as you pressed the left click, th...

Re: Racism, xenophobia, in Brexit Britain

Hi Joseph, Not quite sure what bars you frequent, but in my area of North Norfolk I am not certain they voted to leave on that basis. In defence of Farage, he did not encourage expulsion, nor did the media. Some of the "leavers" may have been anti-foreigner, but I do not think that was the...

no, but it is still main headlines on the news today, but Manchester went quiet shortly after. Do not get me wrong, all attacks are wrong, does not matter who carried out them out, or why, it is abhorent whatever reason. The likes of Dianne Abbot tweets saying the previous ones were "incidents&...

RW, I hope that you do not think I am racist, my fiancee is buddist, my Cousins are Jews, and I did seriously consider flying medical supplies for MAF into war zones 'last year on a 6 month period as I have a PPL (I thought Ian and Gwen could do without me for a while), but the Methodist church want...

Re: Finsbury Park: Several people hurt after vehicle hits pedestrians

Well, It is time to forget about what religion was killed/injured, there is a big fuss made in the media about this, but nothing about the march on Sunday by Al-Qud flying hezboullah flags and being against the Jewish community. If this not hate crime/treason I do not know what is, but the Mayor of ...

Re: 96% drop in recruitment of EU nurses since BREXIT

hmm, I remember us kids did the farm work in the 70's, yes I know driving tractors, getting in the wheat/corn etc etc - we even used to drive our tractors past the local PC at 12 years old- ok, child labour but we did it then and enjoyed it (We only fitted "L" plates on the tractors when S...
