Re: Eight cents off the tax on fuel for 4 months

It is a bonus that many petrol stations had recently decreased their prices in the past 7-10 days and now this extra official amount is making a noticeable difference when filling the tank.

Re: Further 66 traffic cameras due to come online

Well, it looks as if quite a few drivers will be receiving fines going by my experience driving around Paphos today - vehicle over the white line when the traffic lights were on red, sometimes by a small amount and others by much more! Interesting that according to the article in the original post t...

It benefits all the school children who have to walk to school. It is getting darker longer in the mornings, Also benefits the early morning workers. Those were the groups I had in mind when I demurred slightly before giving my selfish tourist POV. North Cyprus did keep summer time for one year (20...

Re: Upgraded swimming pool legislation expected in parliament

It is not just Paphos Municipality that is applying these rules - some complexes in Chloraka and Peyia, also Polis and Argaka have closed their swimming pools. Some do have a sign to the effect that it is the responsibility of the person using the pool and surrounding areas, thus absolving the commi...

Re: Upgraded swimming pool legislation expected in parliament

Does this in any way effect private swimming pools, i.e. a house with it's own private pool. It does not seem to mention this. Gary. No, it does not affect a property which has its own private pool. It is for those properties where people from different residences share a pool (and all chip in via ...

Indeed, now the Chloraka Hellenic Bank or the one in Tomb of the Kings are the nearest to Peyia.
Thank goodness so many shops now offer cashback on various Cypriot debit cards.

The Star filling station on the coast road was selling 95 unleaded at €1.56 a litre earlier this week. Oh dear, having just returned from the UK where the workers unions are backing strikes, the frequent strikes have near paralysed the NHS. Though the nurses have accepted a pay rise, it's the turn of the doctors, both Consultants and Junior Doctor's to strike for more pay thus paralysing their hospit...

One advantage of the MUKW biometric card is that your ID number is the same as your GESY number so no need to carry any additional proof of ID when visiting the doctor or for other medical services However, if eligible for the White Medical Card it is best to have it with you because certain service...

The nearest clinic that has GESY facilities appears to be the Hippocratic Clinic, 6 Ellados Avenue. Tel: 26941910 That is up from Papantoniou supermarket on the opposite side. It is about 650 metres from Karavella Bus Station. Dr Natalia Atmatsidou is a Personal Doctor there. Other than that I can o...

Bumping this back up, sorry  We also have an ancient Android phone with a CYTA PAYG sim in it, but would prefer to use my 'inclusive' UK data rather than have to turn data on on the CYTA phone which will use up our credit. In that case you should be able to use the SMS method for smart parkin...

Re: GP convenient to Tala

I can only find bus route 604 from Tala which goes via Chloraka and Emba to Karavella bus station in the old town.

I have checked the GESY Personal Doctors list and the only PD within walking distance of a bus stop on that route is the one in Chloraka.
